What is going on with student loans?

Must be real geniuses worthy of a bailout.

Someone else reported on Reddit today that their account is showing an administrative forebearance from Sept 1 to February 17, 2023 applied to their account. They didn’t request it.

My guess is that it’s a front run of an announcement tomorrow that payment pause and waiver will both be extended into the New Year.

From the details of that post they seem to be eligible for PSLF so all PSLF eligible who have pending recerts/all the mess with actual finalizing people who made 120 payments will likely get administratively pushed back for 5 months to give them time to continue processing. I have non-PSLF loans and have received no notices.

WaPo isn’t spamming this corny content unless they know there is NOT going to be a payment pause extension and there is NOT going to be $10k wiped. Y’all were duped.

That's fine, I'll vote Republican in midterms after my payments resume along with the people who said they would vote GOP if student loans were for actually forgiven. Honestly if I want a student loan bailout I need to look to the grifter party anyways.

Do you also bailout auto loan, credit card and mortgage deadbeats? Freaking loser.

I mean…I don’t believe in Biden wiping out this debt but he’s not stupid? Turning on loan repayments 60 days before midterms…

He did cancel unemployment same time last year though, so who knows.

Sen. Warren calling out pres. Biden tonight. Suggests she wants a Biden executive order. Interesting.

I’m beginning to believe you - people like Warren, Sanders and the Squad don’t start yapping unless they’re losing.

But if the Education Department is giving until August 2023 to make payment arrangements, how is that different from the pause in place now?

Guess you’re done calling people stupid for actually paying theirs off?

Makes sense.

No forgiveness.

No APR change.

Forbearance til February 2023.

Get your shit together by August 2023.

Your loans are your loans.

I know plenty of MC students who got college educations and paid off their loans through hard work. What expressly amuses me is DCUM is filled with white collar workers making $200K HHI, paying for nannies, housing payments of $3000-$5000/month, going on vacations, but ask them to pay for the education they signed up for suddenly it’s I’M POOR

Montgomery college is unusual, most community colleges do not offer as much variety
It is foolhardy to assume that every American has a community college like MC in their county
