Sizemore Heizer talks a nice game to constituents sometimes, then does whatever she wants. I don't appreciate it. I do agree that Anderson and Pekarsky seem to actually listen to people sometimes.

I agree with your list but I think even the meh needs to go. I had high hopes with Sizemore Heizer but she follows the crowd. Need SB members to stand up for the students.

Agree. i have written Pekarsky about issues with specific examples of why I disagree--school closures was first. Then the survey and I forget what the other oen was. Responses come from her assistant and they are boilermaker responses.

Very disappointed.

Looked up her assistant and she is quite the activist on social media. Makes me wonder.

Pekarsky received some big donations from other politicians.

Question is who is in their right mind is going to want to turn for SB after how current SB have been treated all over the country?

Look at the current board of supervisors. A large number of them used the school board position as a springboard to securing a six figure paycheck on the board of supervisors all while wielding a lot of sway in local politics/business and potentially for higher office. Many people will put up for the crap as a long term investment while not giving two craps about the school system at all.

The Chair of the BOS is the only one getting paid six figures; the rest get $95K.

I'm an educated white woman who voted for Biden and thinks the CRT backlash is BS. I voted for Youngkin because he isn't Trump and he isn't a member of the party that shut schools down for a year in NoVa. It's not that complicated. Take away first grade for my kid and you've lost my vote.

Every time they call high school graduates “uneducated” and imply they are stupid and unable to reason, they are indicting the American public school system.

And, by the way, further alienating needed voters. Let them keep it up.

Nope I don’t. Why would I or anyone volunteer for it when raging parents have lost their collective minds? There’s been yelling, threats. Enlighten me oh wise one….

You obviously have not observed how the SB members treat parents who express opinions contrary to theirs. They don't even listen to the speakers.

Have you ever had someone not listen to you when you are expressing your thoughts? How does that make you feel?

You have a reading comprehension issue. I’m not debating if this SB is any good. I’m asking who in their right mind will volunteer to do the job in 2023.

If the SB acted normally and respectfully, they would not be attacked by parents. That simple.

Example: when the woman read that book out loud and it was so offensive, Pekarsky could have said. Please stop. We will take action on this, She obviously found the book offensive, but, instead of showing shock at the book, she attacked the parent.

It worked when the Democrats ran Kamala “I’m not gonna sit here and say I’m going to do something that only benefits black people, NO!” Harris.

Of course Joe Biden decides who is actually black and I don’t think Winsome Sears qualifies.

The people who are going to run are the crazy right-wing activists who have orchestrated this whole campaign of hate against the current school board. And they will be protected when they serve because normal people (and Democrats, in general) don’t manufacture rage campaigns that involve death threats and made up controversies like the book banning issue that resulted in thousands of hateful emails barraging our current community members who serve.

The whole point is intended to drive regular people out of office.
