Why? What does scenario 3 do to Oakton?

It strips a lot of the high performing feeder schools from Oakton back to Chantilly. Oakton is currently a top 10 school in Virginia and the region. It would kill the academics.

I think Oakton needs more poor kids. Most of the other western HS are sitting at 30-40+ % FARMs kids. Oakton has 10%? It should be balanced out.

Are you proposing a lobster tail for Oakton?

People who went to meetings, please reply to this post with whatever emotions you walked out with.

Has it started yet? I'm still in the zoom waiting room.

Strongly suggest everyone look at the pics of the people who developed the boundary lines. None looked like they had any knowledge of FCPS. Several were very young. My guess: this was a video game puzzle to them and no understanding of what the result would be.

Isn’t most of western Fairfax made of HOAs? The resistance will be loud and organized.

Reid is at the meeting to deal with Greenway Downs/Jefferson Village/Kingsley & Commons & Glasgow MS over at Falls Church HS. She said Marty Smith is leading the Skyview meeting.

They are blathering about how much effort they are putting into this project where all they've done for this study (GD/Glasgow) is just regurgitate maps from late 2025!

Especially when they are splitting up an HOA!

Our HOA loves to scream about property values if you have weeds but also loves to say the schools aren't our problem because not everyone in the neighborhood has kids . So my guess is you won't hear from ours

HOAs and squeaky wheels (such as RIO) shouldn't have so much power. Let the county make its decision. Then go with it. Stop complaining so much.

I am not thrilled thet my younger kids will go to a different middle school and high school than their older siblings, but my "not being thrilled" is solely rooted in comfort and familiarity.

We will get used to new schools and I am sure they'll be great. It will be fine.

So then Chantilly would rise in these rankings? Who cares?

They are taking out Oak Hill. LIkely no change in rankings.

Hence why it looks cheaply put together, cartoonish, and almost looks made by AI

I had friends listening and they said that they said these were not the maps and not to worry. What the actual F?

Are they drafty drafts?

The changes no longer just impact high school. What is the phasing plan for middle school? They can’t keep on “drafty drafting” this if they want to implement this for September.
