Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
So then Chantilly would rise in these rankings? Who cares? |
| Scenario 2 has Oakton at 103 percent and SLHS only at 83 percent. Seems unbalanced. Maybe they need to move Crossfield over to SLHS. |
| Why on earth would anyone zoned to another FCPS care about Oakton's "ranking"? We could not care less. |
Probably students left behind? Chantilly will become even stronger. Powerhouse really. |
I'd always heard the Navy moms were full of themselves. |
| Note they didn’t provide SPA’s with numbers |
What high performing feeder schools get moved in scenario 3? |
| Sounds like some of those genius Oakton feeder schools should be moved to Herndon or South Lakes to help those schools out academically. |
DP. What do you think they've been doing to McLean the last few years, moving kids out of Colvin Run and Spring Hill, or to Marshall, moving kids out of Wolftrap? |
The maps just reflect the decision that the School Board already made in January 2026 to move much of the Wolftrap area from Marshall to Madison and create a new Kilmer/Marshall attendance island. They could have drawn the maps to exclude these areas and it wouldn't change anything relating to Skyview. |
If Crossfield doesn't go to Skyview now they certainly will be going to SLHS at the next review. Oakton will be the most over capacity school left in the region. |
Wasn’t Franklin farm considered for SLHS? |
I wonder how the RIO people would feel if they’re supposed peers from Navy and wherever else get moved to Chantilly. If Oakton is no longer a really high-performing school then why not go to the school that is closer? Seems like no matter what, the status quo is not going to be the case moving forward. Maybe RIO people should’ve thought of this before pushing so hard to stay at Oakton. |
Massive amount of new construction really close to South lakes. |
You jelly? |
