Biden's VP?

I think he’d have to offer it to Kamala, but maybe she wouldn’t want it.

I hope Biden is smart enough not to pick someone who has never run for office and has so much baggage as his running mate

Sally Yates is white. In our current racial divide, he could not appoint a white person as AG. There would be riots and nobody would vote in midterms. He could bring in Eric Holder or Jeh Johnson.

Rice for Sec Def. She is super qualified.

Sure, she is. "Bowe Bergdahl served with honor and distinction."

Agree, it’s SecState or some other senior advising role. She is literally the only prospect with an inexhaustible supply of quotes and policy decisions that can be weaponized. Joe may love and admire her, but he’s not stupid. Don’t think the DNC would ever sanction it either. Pretty sure it will be Harris or Bass.

It’s not Harris based on (1) the don’t trust her debate debacle which Joe may forgive but not Jill or Valerie (2) the Op Ed piece by Willie Brown giving her a graceful excuse for not being the nominee (3) she didn’t poll well among Black voters when she was running for President and her campaign was a disaster (3) her prosecution history and positions on things like body cameras for the police and (4) she is listed as a speaker already for the convention.

Bass has a better shot she has the Florida/Castro and communism problems to overcome.

I agree with all of that about Harris but I think mainly there’s no good argument for her as a governing partner. However you never know exactly what factors are in play with a consensus pick.

I do not think this is the case. I think Sally Yates would be a fine choice, eminently qualified, known to be ethical to her own downfall and respected. No way he could bring in Eric Holder. Jeh Johnson yes maybe.

Joe please pick Duckworth! So sick of this hate from black woman towards white woman. Please pick Duckworth so we can all move on!

I think it would depend on Yates’ history and commitments, which I don’t know much about. If she ends up not being a good pick and Kamala doesn’t want it, maybe the NY AG who’s going after the NRA?

It’s clearly down to two Rice and Harris or Bass..everything else is smoke screen

Based on everything I have read I think it has to be rice or Whitmer. I don’t understand why it would be Harris if he hasn’t announced it yet. I think he would’ve just come out and said it. Someone posted that Harris is already listed as a speaker at the convention, or any of these other top contenders also listed? I am going to check that out now

Rice or Harris based on the ad prep. I wonder if a recent Biden ally comment wasn't right--that he wants Rice but will feel he needs to go with Harris for electability. But then the 'wise counsel' criterion wouldn't seem to apply.

Already been posted, Rice and Bass aren't listed as speakers. All the others are. Could be a smokescreen though, not uncommon to shuffle slots once the VP pick is named.

They could have cut more ads. This isn't super stellar reporting.

True, there could be another agency with other ads ready to go as well. But it is consistent with the insider chatter that's been published.

Duckworth is a do-nothing, which fits the stereotype of vice presidents.

He's told "closest advisors" it's Kamala.
