I think he would’ve just come out and said it. Someone posted that Harris is already listed as a speaker at the convention, or any of these other top contenders also listed? I am going to check that out now

Already been posted, Rice and Bass aren't listed as speakers. All the others are. Could be a smokescreen though, not uncommon to shuffle slots once the VP pick is named.

And there are other big names not on the list: Castro, Abrams, O'Rourke, Yang. They always have celebrities too (though I'd be happy if they skipped that this time), so it's definitely not final. With more of a time crunch this time, can't believe they're wasting a slot on John Kerry. Also no Al Gore, guess the Clintons make sure he's never invited.

Yay! She is smart, charismatic and will bring a lot to the ticket. (And she’s not Susan Rice, phew.)

Harris is wise?! And can represent him on the Hill and internationally?

Duckworth is a do-nothing, which fits the stereotype of vice presidents.

What are you babbling about? She actually tops the ranking of senators in legislative effectiveness and she is still pretty new.

According to The Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a joint partnership between the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and Vanderbilt University,[75] Duckworth's "Legislative Effectiveness Score" (LES) is "Exceeds Expectations" as a freshman senator in the 115th Congress (2017-2018), the 11th highest out of 48 Democratic senators.[76

Plus she’s a woman with no legs who kicks a** on a daily basis!

If this is true, Donald trump just won his reelection. Biden. Is. Dunzo.

Come on, no. Kamala Harris is a relatively safe pick, electorally. The bigger danger with her is possible dysfunction in the cabinet if it’s indeed true that she dropped a bunch of opposition research on the other candidates.

PredictIt is going nuts over Rice. She is past 60 cents.

Something is not matching.

Does Predict It actually pay if you win?

Why do people think she's a safe pick electorally? Serious question. She's in a safe state and ran a disastrous presidential campaign. She doesn't answer questions directly and fumbles her answers all the time. No policy chops. Maybe she could rise to the occasion, but I consider her a very risky pick both in terms of substance and likability. At least Rice has the substance.

And if you talk to her campaign staffers she treated them like, er, people who do lots of work for free and are owned by other people.

And if the opposition dumps are true, she's vicious to any colleagues she perceives as rivals. How would that work while she's angling for the Oval?
