I really don't think we should be giving attention to the quirky folks who are still criticizing the President at this point. They are in a dwindling minority. The majority, in and outside of the US, see Biden as the NATO unifier he is. By using strong words, he protects the more vulnerable members of NATO who might want to speak up - it's much harder for Putin to attack the US than it is for him to attack European nations, particularly ex-USSR satellites. It's the good cop/bad cop routine, and it's well understood among NATO leaders who is playing what role and for what purpose. This is all orchestrated and planned.

Biden is proving to be a masterful negotiator on the world stage, with the backing of most of the world's free countries.

He's also an old man with a speech impediment.

And that's fine. You're allowed a few quirks when you're the leader of the free world.

Actually you aren't because your quirks can get your country and others in major trouble. And I say this as someone who voted for Biden he needs to tighten it up.

I'm PP. I'm European. I've lived in the US for years. I applaud Biden. He's a hero. He said off-the-cuff things that are sincerely felt, true, and needed to be said by him, not by European leaders terrified of provoking a Russian attack on their soil. Unlike Trump, who when he says off-the-cuff things, it's usually xenophobic.

You need to understand the international dynamic here. Eastern Europe is profoundly scarred by the memory of the USSR, and profoundly concerned over potential Russian attacks today. Putin does not respect them and will move against them. He will NOT attack the US, the cost would be too great. What Putin needed to hear was that the US is adamantly against any Russian aggression, and will honor NATO article 5. Biden was as forceful as he could get. His words are worth a thousand missiles when it comes to protecting the borders between Europe and Russia.

Biden has single-handedly unified NATO like it's never been united before. This is a historic moment, and his words will go down in history. He knows his Putin. All Europeans are very much fans of Biden.

This is my take, too. American.

Thank you PP who is from Europe. The pictures of Biden with the troops in Poland were great for me, as an American, to see. We have a unified military from top to bottom and it is well supported. Hopefully we will not have to use it, but I hope Putin sees how truly great it is and how unified we are both within our military and with other NATO countries. Those pictures also told told a thousand words.

"Biden has single-handedly unified NATO like it's never been united before"

I don't totally agree with this comment.
I think the one who has unified NATO is Zelensky. It is he who has shown that he and his people are willing to fight.... and die..... to remain free and sovereign. If he had thrown in the towel and left the country (like many suggested early on), I don't believe NATO would have been nearly as willing to help and provide the assistance Ukraine has needed and requested.

Nobody disputes Zelensky is an incredibly brave and courageous leader. He's wonderful and inspiring, and we all love him. He's the catalyst.

But he's not in NATO. Biden (and Macron) have unified NATO.

He better not be sending troops.

Or what?

On state-controlled Russian media they are calling for all-out Russian invasion of Poland, the Baltics and essentially all of what was once under Soviet control. The millisecond Putin crosses the line we should be responding - with troops, missiles, air superiority. Unleash hell on Russia.

Better not what?

And, reportedly, they are using Biden's speech to the troops yesterday to justify that move.
Good job, Biden!

Yes. Because Putin only decided what to do based on Biden saying that. Sure. /s

Just pointing out that Biden's words are being used as Russian propaganda.

Do you have a link?

I do know other people gladly supply Russian tv with propaganda, but as of yet I hadn't heard Biden's words broadcast.

Different poster, but I do NOT want to share it. I don't want to be nuked over senior moment word salad that was clearly accidental. We are NOT sending troops to Ukraine. He misspoke. God help us

You must be very glad trump and all his crazies has been removed from office.

You're joking, right?
Trump was very non-interventionalist.

And, we have Biden, calling for regime change, but not really. The WH immediately had to walk back his "gaffe."
Guess we know who is actually in charge of foreign policy in our country. It ain't Biden.

Two steps forward, one step back. It's a strategy to keep Putin scared and continue making mistakes. Putin has made a ton of unforced errors over the past month. The mixed messaging is very effective, the Russians keep screwing up and their military command structure is decimated.

And LOL at any of you who believe "we are not sending forces to fight Russia." It's kinda cute that you think we don't have people on the ground in Ukraine right now

Biden is fighting dirty and you don't even realize it.

Sure, pp.
Biden doesn't have a "strategy." He has been behind the curve the entire time.
Yes, NATO is united, but that is more a function of Zelenskyy's resolve than anything Biden has done.
And, the Biden administration keeps touting that NATO is more united than ever........ So what? People continue to be slaughtered in Ukraine and their cities are being leveled.... but, don't fear..... NATO is united.

And, as for those troops in Ukraine. Any troops there are not there with the permission of our government. Yes, there are Americans who have chosen to go over, but they are not current members of our Armed Forces.

Why is Biden getting such abysmal ratings on his handling of Ukraine then? The latest NBC poll should horrify the WH.

The Biden administration has been working behind the scenes to shore up NATO support for a while before the invasion started. Nice attempt at diminishing their role, though.
