I really don't think we should be giving attention to the quirky folks who are still criticizing the President at this point. They are in a dwindling minority. The majority, in and outside of the US, see Biden as the NATO unifier he is. By using strong words, he protects the more vulnerable members of NATO who might want to speak up - it's much harder for Putin to attack the US than it is for him to attack European nations, particularly ex-USSR satellites. It's the good cop/bad cop routine, and it's well understood among NATO leaders who is playing what role and for what purpose. This is all orchestrated and planned. Biden is proving to be a masterful negotiator on the world stage, with the backing of most of the world's free countries. He's also an old man with a speech impediment. And that's fine. You're allowed a few quirks when you're the leader of the free world.
Actually you aren't because your quirks can get your country and others in major trouble. And I say this as someone who voted for Biden he needs to tighten it up.
I'm PP. I'm European. I've lived in the US for years. I applaud Biden. He's a hero. He said off-the-cuff things that are sincerely felt, true, and needed to be said by him, not by European leaders terrified of provoking a Russian attack on their soil. Unlike Trump, who when he says off-the-cuff things, it's usually xenophobic. You need to understand the international dynamic here. Eastern Europe is profoundly scarred by the memory of the USSR, and profoundly concerned over potential Russian attacks today. Putin does not respect them and will move against them. He will NOT attack the US, the cost would be too great. What Putin needed to hear was that the US is adamantly against any Russian aggression, and will honor NATO article 5. Biden was as forceful as he could get. His words are worth a thousand missiles when it comes to protecting the borders between Europe and Russia. Biden has single-handedly unified NATO like it's never been united before. This is a historic moment, and his words will go down in history. He knows his Putin. All Europeans are very much fans of Biden.
This is my take, too. American.
"Biden has single-handedly unified NATO like it's never been united before" I don't totally agree with this comment. I think the one who has unified NATO is Zelensky. It is he who has shown that he and his people are willing to fight.... and die..... to remain free and sovereign. If he had thrown in the towel and left the country (like many suggested early on), I don't believe NATO would have been nearly as willing to help and provide the assistance Ukraine has needed and requested.
Nobody disputes Zelensky is an incredibly brave and courageous leader. He's wonderful and inspiring, and we all love him. He's the catalyst. But he's not in NATO. Biden (and Macron) have unified NATO.
Zelensky should have investigated Biden.
There....was nothing to investigate. Do you seriously not understand that at this juncture?
