To the Ladies and Gentlemen on all sides, Reading this blog for the past 24 hours has been quite interesting. I’m checking out and wish all of you the best. Lacrosse is a wonderful sport and I am thrilled that my children play. irregardless of the negativity and anger that is found throughout this post, I hope you find peace.

We look forward to great competition this summer!

Keep if classy NOVA!

Sincerely,

YJMA should change their mascot to the Ostriches. Seems like all they do is bury their heads in the sand, oblivious to everything around them.

I have no skin in the game other than to be embarrassed grown adults would make posts like this above.

I think someone might be seeing what the YJMA is, which is a club with a huge backing from one of the most respected club directors in the country and who will have access to many things other NOVA clubs can't possibly compete with (elite tournaments, showcases, recruiting coordinators) . Are you threatened by YJMA? You should be if you have stake in other local clubs.

What?? What tournaments and other events do you really think a subpar club like YJMA has over the top DMV clubs like Capital, Pride and Stars?? No one is threatened by anyone associated with YJMA. The club is run by someone with endless false promises.

As for top tourneys, I guess playing in the F division at Live love lax sells the IG image. Didn't see YJMA in NGLL, guess that's not considered "Elite" enough and is above the YJMA standard.

I’ll be the first to admit, that my daughter is not at a superior playing level compared to some of the other girls in her age bracket..and that is OK!! However, I’m really glad that she has a place to continue her love of the sport all year long. I just cannot begin to comprehend why you knock a new club for trying to create additional opportunities for the youth in our area.

I encourage my children to play sports, not because I’m looking for them to become a professional athlete, but because it provides an amazing foundation for life lessons. They learn how to lose, overcome adversity, build on their strengths and work together as a team while developing as an individual.

If you are trying to recruit for these other few select clubs, your message is ill received. Lacrosse is growing, the demand is there and so as with any organization or company they have to meet the demand and created new opportunities for their growing client base. Basic business 101.

No matter how many times I read this post, I will never begin to understand the continued visceral that smothers any decent conversation from occurring.

Your focus is skewed and very alarming. I hope your daughter is enjoying her club experience and growing. That is what is important. The score, the bracket, the tournament…none of it matters in the end.

Best of luck,

Lax parent

How long has YJMA been around? 18 months? You expect them to grad all top players at all level by holding two tryouts? Get a clue. They have the sustainability one needs to develop and grow a brand, if you can’t see that, you are kidding yourselves.

Said Stars/Pride parent feels it is their responsibility to educate the parents that do not know better.

Buddy…get over it! You clearly feel entitled and want to gloat! You are doing a fantastic job demonstrating the objectives of your club. You are judging young girls based on the color of their jersey. I think it is time to reassess!!!

YJMA posters you just keep avoiding the issue that brought the program to this place on the forum. It is not about another program that gives the girls a chance to be well guided and taught and allowed the opportunity to play the sport. THAT would all be terrific! It is about a specific situation last weekend that was a terrible opportunity for girls to be taught and guided how to play the wrong way and a warning to others that it happened if you were not there to see it. That simple and own it as it happened.

Players made bad choices…volunteer coaches made bad choices…lesson learned.

Watch the news and re-evaluate your focus.

Also…the behavior on this is far worse… posters get to choose in a calm setting wether or not to hit “ send”… their behavior is noting I would want my kids to emulate. PLus this HATE campaign has been going in for over 14 months.

Say your prayers you live in America and count your blessings!

The Yellowjacket club owner or franchise owner - whichever it is - might consider posting on here noting that the behavior displayed at the St James last weekend was inexcusable and won’t happen again. Some accountability would go a long way - and a statement that dangerous play by their girls is not something they will tolerate either.

Last weekends display by that Yellowjackets team was pretty bad all around. Someone could say just “yea, it isn’t what this club wants to portray, won’t happen again.”

This post and other similar weird ones about “Murica” and “freedumb” makes one think the YJMA parents ranks are filled with MAGAts. Explains the violence.

Buddy….judging people on jersey color and diction…perhaps you have more concerning issues. Take your nastiness elsewhere.

Looking at previous posts wanting to point out a HS helper throw a tantrum and making it a focal point about the organization seems desperate.

Reading over the concensus of especially the 2023 class. It seems Capital's two team get the best players. So the top rated girl laxers, 1-44 went to Capital and had great success in getting the placement they were working for. The next group by talent is supposedly Pride, 45-66 which is having issues getting their girls recruited. Seems VA Metro is next, maybe their girls are ranked as 67-88 and they had success placing their girls. So maybe YJMA is next with their girls ranking between 89-110. They have had success placing their girls. So, if the player verbally commits to a school, I would think the player, player's family and organization all did their job and the result speaks for themselves. Of course, to some people on this forum they continue choose to bash instead of promote the student/athlete achievement.

Girls lacrosse has around 150,000 HS players. It's said the only 12% of HS girls lacrosse players will go on to play women's lacrosse. Only 3% are offered a spot at D1 programs. It seems that those that are getting recruited and commiting seem to have chosen the correct club to develop and defy the odds. The fact that some players that might have not been seen as cream of the crop and either didn't try out or make the cut at maybe Capital or Pride, were developed tremendously and utilized the club's connections to help them be seen and get offered. Maybe some clubs and players did not find their fit, maybe they decided their skills set did not match the type of college or univiersity setting they want in a college experience. Maybe they decided their lacrosse passion waned and the dedication required is too much and decided not to pursue it at the next level. Regardless, I hope they enjoy their lacrosse experience.

When looking at the recruiting done with the YJ club and thinking about what they were working with, what they had to develop and how they put players in position to be seen and offered. You must choose not to see it, be a little crazy or biased, or just be that bitter and miserable of a person to continue to attack a club and it's players. YJMA success with their 2023 is actually surprising and impressive with their early commits. They are placing girls that originally weren't viewed as top rated players in the DMV area and developed them into a future college student/athlete. Well done.

Congrats, to all the girls on the verbals and future NLI. I'm looking forward to reading more placements in the 2023 class as well as seeing the next crop develop and go through the process.

Good luck to the players for their spring HS seasons.
