This Is Us, Season 4

Did anyone else find the way Sophie’s mom kept touching younger Kevin a little unsettling and strange? I get that she was supportive of him but for a mother in law to touch their son in law in the face so intimately seemed unusual. I wonder if there was more to their relationship that will come out later or maybe that was just her personality.

I found it inappropriate but I don’t think there was anything more to their relationship. I also wondered if she had mental health issues — she seemed manic and not entirely in reality.

I thought the same. Everyone else seems to love her, but something felt off to me.

I surprised the ending wasn't "and he found his sheep mobile".

Yeah I noticed it

Toby is turning out to be a total jerk.

I thought it was inappropriate too and figured that if she had that he would’ve mentioned it when he bent back to her grave.

I think they pretty strongly alluded to this when she spent the money she's been saving for new pipes on a trip to see the Northern Lights instead.

I didn’t get that she had mental issues but that she was very free spirited, laid back and unconventional.

Really? I definitely took this as a sign that she was manic.

I thought that Kevin appreciated that she was more of a dreamer and free-spirit, while his own mom was more practical.

Agreed. She was a good balance for Kevin and was one of his biggest cheerleaders. Most of us are practical. She wasn’t. She seemed like a go with the flow and do what I want, not what I know kind of person. This was extremely helpful to him to have her in his corner. She clearly wasn't too crazy. She retained the ring for all of the right reasons.

Clearly, Kevin and Sophie should be together.

It continues to be a travesty that Justin Hartley hasn’t been nominated for an Emmy award.

Agree with both of you. Love Justin. The other cast members get all the accolades but he deserves them as well.

It was gorgeous storytelling. I am really trying to understand M Night Shyamalan's words about the ending that people want, that it's always there, yet no one sees it coming.

Kevin and Sophie finished watching GWH. I think this means it's the end for them, their goodbye/closure.

Maybe Madison gets pregnant but they don’t end up together, and he raises the child ?

Remember when Jack told little Kevin when he lost his stuffed animal that “if you lose something you love, you will find something else to love.” I feel that it is foreshadowing a new love for Kevin (maybe a child he conceived during a 1 night stand with Madison.)

But u still haven’t given up on the Sophie:Kevin possibility because they have chemistry
