they are SO going to jail!

My only desire is they get a sentence of a year or more each.

There's been talk of Loughlin copping a guilty plea though. She's scared.

Too pretty for jail

"They feel like this is David versus Goliath. How do you go up against the federal government, when the government has decided to make an example out of you? How can you possibly move forward from this?' a source close to Loughlin, 55, told People.

The President is making special announcements and the Feds want to lock up Lori. What's the world coming to?

They have the husband on a call stating he will dress the daughter up like an athlete to be a fake rower. I'm not really sure what defense they are going for. Some of the parents that gave straight $ could maybe angle to say they thought it was solely a charity payment----long stretch. But, these two with the amount of $ they paid and the 'fake athlete' photos---I don't get how the h@ll they think they are getting off.

Too late for a plea bargain. The plea bargain was offered up front (when Felicity Huffman accepted). It has been withdrawn. At this point, a guilty plea just cuts down on the court time and sends it to the jury and judge to determin sentencing which will have to follow sentencing guidelines.

Seriously, your only desire? Why do you even care this much?

I don't think any of these people deserve jail time. Pedophiles and rapists get away with less public lynching.

Ridiculous. The government did not choose to make an example out of them. They could have been one of many if they had plead guilty and exhibited contrition at the discovery, when the earlier cases did so. Then the government would be much more leniant, like it was for the first several who have been convicted. All of them got below the minimum sentencing guidelines and the prosecutorial requested sentences. But the defiant not-guilty plea, the sucking up the media to make it look like the government were fools and the insistence that they did nothing wrong is what got them in the bind they are in. They have no one to blame but themselves, first for flaunting the law, then for turning their case into a bigger media circus than it was and singling themselves out from the pack and then for their deceptive defiance.

Some people have no shame whatsoever and then to claim that the government is persecuting them in addition to prosecuting them is true gall.

Apparently the feds put the plea bargains back on the table. 4 parents who originally pleaded not guilty and were scheduled to go on trial took the deal up on Monday because they learned ADDITIONAL charges were being filed.

So they got there deal - don't know if it was the same terms as the original deal takers. Nevertheless Lori didn't take it so...

I'm not the person you quoted, but I'm sure that person was just using that phrase as an idiom. I bet that person probably cares just as much as anyone else who took the time to read and respond here. Including you.

Huffman was smart enough to plead guilty and issue an apology, and she 'only' paid for text-fixing, not for fake athletic participation. Laughlin and Co are playing with fire by not taking the deal.

This. It's truly despicable.
