He is also immensely talented by comparison. It's not remotely the same.leve of talent. further, his issues were so much related to self harm and addiction that makes him more sympathetic. Hers were about entitlement and cheating, people are less likely to forgive. |
Honestly I was waiting for her to put her foot in her mouth by saying the "right" things at first but then relying on tears or something to garner sympathy and see "her side"...but she didn't. She actually did really well by saying her motive was to say I'm sorry and then was totally honest about how she is only starting to do the work of understanding privilege and what she can do with it. I completely get why Gammy didn't want to give her space but even she seemed pleasantly surprised by her ownership |
+1 maybe not "bad," but very entitled and unwilling to admit wrongdoing until basically forced by circumstances to do so. |
I had a different take. It was very obvious she is only trying to make a comeback on Instagram and will say whatever it takes. |
|
Is she so well known that she doesn't need a last name? I saw a headline referring to "Olivia Jade" and thought, "Oh, come ON," because she doesn't seem to have earned that level of name recognition, but then I am not wise in the ways of Instagram influence.
|
Yes, in the YouTube world for people her age. Also, I don’t think most people would tie her last name to her parents. Mossimo is pretty much only known by his first name because of his brand. |
I guess. And i get her point to some degree. But, considering both Jada's mother and child have and are benefitting from Jada's fame . . . . I mean, there is a certain level of tone deafness with her arguments, imo. |
| I love how everything short of murder now falls under the auspices of “mistake”. Heading out with out your license in your wallet and bribing your way into college are basically the same. She knew damn well how privileged she was. She just didn’t care until she got caught. |
True but I don't understand why this couldn't wait until her mom and dad were out of prison. They're both serving time over the holidays for her 'mistake'. You couldn't wait til your incarcerated mom and dad were free to bring attention to yourself and potentially hate down on them inside? |
Exactly. The mistake was getting caught. |
| Why can't they just go away? People have sorta forgotten about you, but they just can't help themselves, they HAVE to get back on tv and social media to drum up the scandal. These people must be mentally ill. And the young gal looks and sounds like a sociopath rich mean girl. |
| Was there anything especially interesting about Olivia? Pretty "influencer" girls her age are a dime a dozen, right? |
no, literally nothing besides the fact she had famous parents. |
Agree. Too soon. She was badly advised. |

I thought the red table talk was pretty interesting. To me, Olivia Jade seemed earnest. She is very young, and grew up in a extremely wealthy environment. I believe her when she says she didn't realize her privilege. She seemed to own the situation as a mistake and crime and appears to be pretty deeply embarrassed.
I think Jada basically sees her as one of her own kids and can identify with her parents. I'm sure that Jada and Will's kids have had lots of opportunities due to their wealth and personas, not due to merit, which I think is not lost on Jada. I can imagine there are a lot of conflicted feelings going on there about their own privilege, trauma, discrimination, etc. That has got to be hard to navigate emotionally. |
