The People's Department just sent out guidance that the hiring freeze will remain in place until further notice.

I'm not this PP but the "People's Department" usually refers to USDA, I think.

I'm with a Commerce agency, and we just got guidance that we could pretty much proceed with hiring, as usual.

Yesterday (4/19) employees at NASA received a transition update from the acting agency director that included:
Robert Lightfoot, Acting Administrator of NASA wrote:I am happy to report that the federal hiring freeze in place since January has been lifted. While we will still need to prioritize the positions we fill and ensure that they are in line with the President’s Budget Blueprint released in March, we are confident we will be able to find the new team members we need to carry out the many functions that our complex missions require. We’ll have more details soon about how we’ll proceed with filling those important vacancies.

Those are pretty big, NIST, NOAA, CENSUS. My money is on census. They have to ramp up
Operations in next three years for decennial census.

But is Goddard itself in jeopardy with the planned drawdown of climate and earth science.
