+1 there’s too much negative press around him. As a Democrat, I hope he stays because he’s certainly not helping Trump win. But as an American, I would feel safer with a different VP (Haley?) in case Trump wins.

Same! You took the words right out of my mouth.

If the GOP were smart it would have been Haley as VP from the start.

A balance to Trump.
Would appear more moderate.
May have stolen some undecided votes.
It would have been a bridge back to normalcy so they could rebuild the party away from maga moving forward.

I'm glad they aren't that clever as the current ticket hurts Trump chances of getting in, but as an American the thought of Trump or Vance answering the phone at 3 am is frightening.

Nope, Haley is the Dolores Umbridge of the Republican party. She attacked Trump relentless when she ran for nominee, only to turn on her heels and shamelessly endorse Trump. She continues to do so. She is no different than flip flopping Vance, her convictions change with whatever will get her what she wants at the moment. She was "never Trumper", then his #1 fan when she was working for his admin, then she attacked him when she campaigned for Pres, finally flip flopping again to switch gears and endorse him to speak at his convention. She's no different than Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or all the other conviction-less GOPs.

Correct. She did have moments of clarity though, like this: “The first party to retire its 80-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election.”

I do not think DonOLD would select Haley, but she is as slimy and spineless as the rest of the GOP.

and again, the first hint of rumors of a problem and Trump pounces — he LOATHES any sign of weakness. The fact anyone is talking about it means that Vance is on EXTREMELY thin ice.

So, let's start speculating... who gets to replace Vance when, this weekend, he realizes he has an illness or his wife does? I say Ben Carson, who, rumor has it, was offered the job and accepted until Trump got cocky and reneged to give it to Vance to make libs cry because he was SO sure he was going to win in a landslide.

The 70 something year old Ben Carson?

I have to be totally honest: Listening to Ben Carson's interview this week on Tucker's podcast, Carson seems like a really decent Christian man. Very articulate and sharp. Vance in contrast is so transparently fake, slimy, cringe — and an atheist.

Read up about Carson violating ethics rules when he bought ridiculously expensive furniture for his government office. With our tax dollars. I think they replaced the agency AG rather than him being held accountable.

Doesn’t strike me as a “good Christian man.”

(And consider why you feel the need to attach someone’s religion to saying they are good)

the same way everyone attaches an identifier nowadays - goes both ways. Harris as "black/indian woman". Pete as "openly gay". I don't see why identifiers should even matter. I don't vote for someone based on those identifiers at all.

He brings literally nothing to the table in the swing states Trump needs. Even the state of Ohio hates him, presumably aided by the fact he's a con artist carpetbagger who never actually moved back to Ohio. Vance and his Brahmin wife are Ivy League coastal elitist strivers who despise flyover country.

Let's not act like it's impossible for opponents to go at each other and then become a team.
Harris attacked the hell out of Biden then became his VP and is now the nominee.
The only issue would be Trump's ego.

I associate Dolores umbridge with insistence on orthodoxy and stupid cruelty, not flip flopping.

And the GOP donor base despises him.
