Bridgerton, Season 2

Bailey is a phenomenal actor. The flashback scenes really got me.

Agree. I also loved the scene where his mom comes into the room to tell him that Kate is ok. His face just crumples and he puts his head in his hands and cries. You could almost feel the weight of everything he's been carrying.

this scene and the one where he first declares his painful/forbidden love to Kate. Does anyone remember where these are in the series? I want to go back and watch them again. He was so good.

This was such a Pride & Prejudice moment.

End of the 7th episode, right before the ride in the rain. Total P&P moment for sure.

I really disliked Kate and wished he ended up with Edwina.

Apparently everyone on set gave him a standing ovation after that scene.

Anonymous wrote:I binge watched this weekend and enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the Indian influence on Kate's dresses...the colors, textures, jewelry. It makes me want to have some of my old saris remade into period dresses.

I also really liked the actresses who played Lady Danbury, Lady Bridgerton, and the Queen. Maybe because I just turned 50, but I notice more "mature" actresses now and I thought they each had a lot more to work with this season. That one scene with the Queen brought tears to my eyes, as did a few scenes with Lady Bridgerton and Anthony.

I totally agree! I love that they give special attention to the stories of older women, and all those jewel tones! 😍😍😍

I agree with this. Lady Danbury has been a favorite from the get-go, but the scene when Violet is in mourning and talking to Anthony absolutely slayed me.

PP here. I hate seeing Penelope so enamored of him and so desperate for his attention. It's one of my least favorite troupes, and possibly the most true to life.

Pen and Colin are goofy looking and have zero chemistry.

I can't see how they will possibly get together. I don't understand why people like Pen's character. I find her selfish and reprehensible.

Pen has a lot of bad acts to make up. I don't remember how/whether she properly rehabilitates herself in the books.

Just watching the finale and I’m struck by how much the actor who plays Theo looks like the actress playing Eloise. Like they are related. I felt like that whole storyline was ridiculous but their resemblance was just another level of weird.
Even in this fantasy regency London there is no way Eloise (or Penelope) would’ve been allowed to galavant all over town without a chaperone. Never.

Did anyone notice the decor for the balls this season was kind of sparse? (Innuendos aside, I mean the parties!). Maybe it was the bright lighting but none of them were spectacular in any way.

They’ll get a glow up in their season. Better styling and lighting. Jonathan Bailey looked like Wolverine in season 1.

NP. That’s good to know she might turn herself around later. Right now I just cannot imagine a season dedicated to her. I liked her in the first season but after all the awful things she did, watching her on screen makes me stabby.
