Based on the previous posts about where the girls are playing, this doesn't look good for the Pride program. Both Pride and Capital Blue are ranked in the Top 20 and both played Top 5 schedules. Both teams clearly have talented players to play at this level. Capital Orange and VA Metro are ranked in the 70s. It's easy to understand Capital Blue having more commits, but it doesn't make sense all three of these teams would have more commits than Pride. The talent is there with the Pride players, so why such a difference in the number commitments?

Capital is in the top 10. Pride top 20. Capital Fall Record 8-3-1. Pride 4-8.

I've missed 8-3-1 guy. Good to see you're still around to preach the gospel.

Gotta love Pride dads who claim competitive relevance when scores fall their way — and ridicule those with the audacity to share actual tourney stats that tell a different story. Thumbs up, boys.

It is hard to stomach facts when you are selling a false narrative of parity.

Are the Capital Blue girls really this good?

Everyone is committed so the answer would be yes.

No one cares about championship T-shirts at this point, it’s about the recruiting.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. No one cares about club scores and rankings. If the kid wants to play in college, it’s all about player development and finding that right balance between lax and academics.

Why do girls travel events revolve around "showcases" and guys travel events are "tournaments"? When did this become the norm? Do the event holders believe girls wouldn't like to actually "win" something? Seems a bit sexist to me.

Guys lacrosse have plenty of showcases too, especially for the higher-end club. The only real girls showcases are the IWCLA events and some one-day fall event where there isn't time for a championship knockout tourney

Our experience does not align w this. Every tourney my son played in this Summer (and my older son) was in a tournament...pool play then playoffs on Sunday (NLF, Adrenaline, NAL). They have some showcase stuff in Fall cause many don't have the full teams to compete and the individual showcase stuff (UA, Nike). Some clubs are starting to do like 4 team play days/round robins locally, but not the big events. My daughter plays for a Baltimore club. I think every big event she played in this Summer was a showcase...5 games...no advancing. Live. Lax. Love, Summer Genesis. Lax for the Cure. My daughters club will also do local one-day playdays, as the boys.

It's an interesting difference in approaches. Would love to know why the difference.

Lax for the Cure is tournament style as well.

Is it possible in that the different approaches by the colleges to the recruiting process overall? Girls seem to have more on-campus clinics versus the boys, but the boys more showcases. So is it maybe just easier for them to go where everyone might be versus just those that show up on your campus, assuming you have an on campus event?

I will answer simply- no.
They are a good team with a few studs but the parents are well organized and the girls have been marketed well.

College coaches beg to differ…. and isn’t that what it’s all about in the end anyway?

Lax for a cure, Summer Genesis, Fall Fest, Lax Clash, these are all playoff based tournaments

Depends on grad year what the format is. Either way..point made...more of a mixed between two formats than I thought from the Summer. Daughter didn't play in the Fall due to injury, so was only referring to Summer experience.

The biggest difference with boys and girls lacrosse is that there are more opportunities at D1 for girls. More teams and equal amount of players. Schools have to work harder to find and recruit girls as there are more open spots on college rosters.
