Agree. There a lot of great local players moving on to top colleges. Covid may have had the biggest impact on this class from added Covid years to coaches not seeing players. It was the smallest recruiting class nationally in the past few years, so congrats to all who received offers and are pursuing their dreams.

WHEN DOES THE DRAMA END!!!!!
My committed 23 daughter is having a bad night because one of her future teammates is recruiting roommates from the committed class on their IG signing photos and is giving her the cold shoulder. I know you don’t have to like everyone but can we stop with the games. I hate social media. It doesn’t nothing for these girls anxiety. I know people are free to do what they want but I thought these dramas were in the past.

The 23’s missed their summer of big camps. My daughter missed the opportunity to pick up camps we eyeballed the year before. Of course the 23s that made it to the big camps a season or two early had the resources to do so. But for those without the resources to do many camps a season or two early the opportunities to get on the radar were there.

Coaches, whether in Covid or not, have limited time to evaluate players. They will listen to recruiting directors from established clubs about their players. But they will make their own decisions about recruiting players. Those players who shine in big tournaments and play against the best teams in the country have a huge advantage in getting recruited to top schools.

This. Recruiting directors and well-connected coaches will help get the coach to the sideline, but the players have to produce. They also have to communicate with the recruiting director/coach to get that to happen.

It’s obvious the players have to perform. It’s the job of the club director and recruiting director to set the table by getting college coaches to the sidelines. It’s the club coaches job to put an entertaining product on the field the college coaches will want to watch and its the club coaches job to put the players in the right positions to showcase well. And be aware of which college colleges are there to see which players.

Coaches see many more games than players realize, which at times can be a problem if they bounce from game to game and only see 1 half. Coaches also talk. So many of them are connected to each other through their own playing days.

Players have to start it all by reaching out to coaches first and attend camps/clinics/prospect days. Then the conversation goes to the clubs directors/coaches/recruiting directors. And while HS coaches are not the end all be all, some are and some are very well connected and should be in the mix, especially those that have been around a while. Constant communication is key here and understanding that it may not be your #1 but take a visit if possible or at least talk to people, you just never know.

The drama never ends with girls. Get used to it. It’s just as bad in college esp on teams in sports like lax that attract certain types of girls.
