Congratulations to all of the girls who want to continue playing lacrosse and will have this opportunity at the college level.
Based on the previous posts about where the girls are playing, this doesn't look good for the Pride program. Both Pride and Capital Blue are ranked in the Top 20 and both played Top 5 schedules. Both teams clearly have talented players to play at this level. Capital Orange and VA Metro are ranked in the 70s. It's easy to understand Capital Blue having more commits, but it doesn't make sense all three of these teams would have more commits than Pride. The talent is there with the Pride players, so why such a difference in the number commitments? |
These lists are missing several girls commitments. |
Capital is in the top 10. Pride top 20. Capital Fall Record 8-3-1. Pride 4-8. |
| Based on commits I think Cap Blue is your gold standard, but VA Metro is better for recruiting than Cap Orange. Pride just not really in the mix yet. The girls who committed from Pride did it on their own, at schools that had coaching changes or have been recruiting later— with guidance/connections could have landed at better spots. (If the team was truly on par with Capital, it’s an abysmal showing) |
My advice is that always better to be on a good clubs top team than best club B team. B teams do not get the same looks. 14 for VA metro is a good showing. Any for Cardinal 3D or other clubs? |
| Why aren’t scores current on app for St James indoor games? Have games been cancelled? Is it just laziness or disorganization? What’s the deal? |

Bottom line is this when it comes to club lax, it all depends on what the final goal of the player is. Do they want to try and play in college or just play for fun (while remaining competitive). Just my opinion, but anyone who plays for Cap Blue all want to play in college and just my opinion, but MOST of the players on Cap orange want to play in college (or at least want to, but maynot get the recruiting support and maynot actual end up playing in college). Those are pretty clear realistic facts.
Again, just my opinion, but the pride 23 players for the most part wanted to play in college (some not) but shot to high and got absolutely no support. It's too bad because they have very good players. VA Metro (in my opinion) has a wide variety and type of players from D1 to D3 (and that's ok, to each their own), but some very capable D1 players, but the key is, they got 100% support from their coach and were very realistic in their approach and target schools. Seems like from their website they have been pumping out players from the 2020 class on down, regardless of the caliber of school as they all found good homes that meet their need. Cardinal I'm not to sure is even in the mix at this point as it looks like they are hurting bad with only 2 teams left, but do know for a fact, their is absolutely no recruiting support. When it comes to scores and rankings (like the previous poster said), all of that honestly doesnt matter if you want to be recruited as college coaches don't care about that---FACT. If your goal is bragging rights like most parents think, then ok go for the "my team beat your team". Any true laxer knows that scores and USclub lax rankings dont mean much at all. Case in point, I saw VA Metro ranked #37 at one point, and get this- Rev23 Black ranked #1 at one point in time and CT Grizzlies 23 team at one point wasn't even ranked in the top 30. So there you go, just my humble opinion, but again, congrats to all the players committing to their colleges at any level. Mic Drop |
Someone noted Capital B has three more commits (beyond this list). The VA Metro commits track with those listed on the club’s website. Has Pride committed any players in addition to this list? |

Pride isn’t even listing college commits.
Guess it’s obvious why! For all the crap talked about YJ MA they do already have three commits, all local which is great for those players if that’s what they were looking for. Did not expect that! Bottom line: your player isn’t as good as you say they are, they are as good as the college coaches think. And you have to get on their radar early with the help of your coach, otherwise you are scrambling for leftovers. |
Pride also has one committed to Temple and one to ODU. I think that gets them to 7 total. |
Another 23 committed to Longwood today that makes 4 total. |
I've missed 8-3-1 guy. Good to see you're still around to preach the gospel. |
| interesting about the pride and the va metro committed kids, they look to be about the same caliber schools. Does that mean that the players are basically the same talent level? Not sure, and just asking. |
