That's all well and good if all Harry wants is a life of a global layabout. But if they want to do more than attend parties? BRF still has to approve every one of their engagements, ambassadorships, spokesman roles, let alone commercial arrangements. THAT happens out of the public eye and that's what they can take their sweet time figuring out.

Aside from being exceptionally old, no one, and I mean NO ONE should feel bad for the Queen. Monarchies across Europe have streamlined and modernized as they have embraced democracy and moved away from this entirely anachronistic form of government and figurehead power. The Queen has stubbornly refused to do the same and has made the family both less relevant and a source of tabloid fodder, sowing discord left and right, particularly within her own family. Whatever ruthless code of conduct she adheres to, no one else does and it's made the whole Firm basically a joke. Markle isn't changing that, like Fergie and Diana didn't before her. She's been a key figure in all of these relationships and she has basically a 100% failure rate; her own marriage is a joke. Her instincts suck. If Markle were a one-off I could get it, but the Queen has a decades-long history of orchestration and meddling that I don't respect a bit.
