"We will never forget," it says under an American flag. The first lady's Twitter account posted a version of the picture, too.

If you enlarge the picture, you can make out the white trim tracing across her back, on the coat belt, and up and down the split in the coat back, which is closed with a button tab.

Aha! It shows a tower with a plane flying into it, declared eagle-eyed users alert to anything that can be used to criticize POTUS via FLOTUS.

Melania Trump, after all, was harshly mocked in 2018 when she wore a jacket with the words "I REALLY DON'T CARE DO U?" scrawled on the back for a humanitarian visit to migrant children separated from their parents at the border.

Critics have been on alert ever since, in search of FLOTUS outfits to disparage.

"I’m sure I’m not the first one to spot this but who in the world thought it was a good idea for Melania to wear this coat in the 9/11 photo. It legit looks like an object is flying into a tower or the Washington Monument," tweeted Ashley Spivey.

Me again - isn't it 90 degrees in DC today? (I'm in Florida, where it's 93 degrees.)

Oh, FFS.
This is absolute proof positive that some people will search for ANYTHING to criticize anyone in the Trump family about.
This is an absolute ludicrous, idiotic observation and USA Today should be ashamed for printing this stupid story.

I don't know man. It certainly doesn't compare to Tan Suit or Bare Arms but it does seem worth noting that Melanie has possibly once again put some gross message on the back of her jacket. Perhaps she shouldn't have worn the "I really don't care" jacket if she didn't want us to read meaning into what her jackets say.

I don't know.......
Seems as if many of you will read something into anything she wears, anything she says, anything she doesn't say, anything she does, anything she doesn't do......
So, in a nutshell..... she will never satisfy most of you regardless of what she wears/says/does.

I agree the coat is not worth talking about.

BUT, I guarantee we'd be talking about it if Jill Biden wore it today.

But she posted it today to remember 9/11? She really is a crass b.

I can't stand Melania but this is really stupid. It's a vent with a button.

Yeah, I get that. A couple of things though: first, we found out after the fact that she very much selected the famous green jacket to piss off her husband and his staff, to create more difficulty for him. Second, this is why people in roles like First Lady hire professional dressers. I realize it’s a vent and a (bizarrely places) button, but... it’s also a pretty obvious and inappropriate image, to be posted on 9/11 of all days.

I’m through debating this. There’s a certain point at which a person no longer needs to be given the benefit of the doubt, and Melania has long since passed that point the outfit was t even worn today, but someone went out of their way to post this pic, from the rear? She did it on purpose - to piss off her husband, because she’s bored, I don’t know why. I don’t know why and I don’t care.

Um, no. Well, stupid people might be talking about it.

Well, at the same time as us being batshit, she did probably have thousands of pics to choose from when posting and happened to find a pic. where it looked like a tower was being hit on the back of her coat.

You would think they'd find an image without the ambiguity, right?

Ok guys, i loathe the first grifters as much as anyone, but this is nuts.

It is a standard vent in a coat with a button tab with contrast
stitching.

Melania has represented our country with class and dignity.
Yes she has made a few mistakes.
You would have to go back to Jackie Kennedy to find
a first lady who dressed as beautifully and tastefully
as Melania.

I don’t think this was on purpose, but it was a bad choice. I only saw this after people criticized it, so I don’t know if I would have noticed the stitching, but it is noticeable and it does look like a tower and that’s weird.

You would think, but no one seems competent there. She does have a penchant for wearing clothing that invites speculation. She's an extremely literal dresser.

She, no doubt, searched for weeks, nay, months..for an image on a piece of clothing that might appear like a plane is flying into a tower. She knew exactly what she was looking for. When she found the exact image she was seeking, she knew it would need to be worn months ahead of time since September would be much too warm to wear such a coat in DC.

With this forethought, she made sure to wear it on a cloudy, overcast day to send the perfect message. Then, made sure a photographer captured the image perfectly. And, she has been saving this image for months - so she could tweet it on 9.11 to send a subliminal message. Because she is bored. And, to piss off her husband.

Yes, she is one conniving woman, that Melania.

(You people are bat$hit crazy.)

No, not that clever. It’s that the WH doesn’t have enough/smart enough staff for someone to have realized that the optics of this photo made it the wrong choice for 9-11.

Also why are M and D even tweeting out a picture of THEMSELVES to commemorate this sacred date? Narcissists to the core.

And dressing beautifully and tastefully is THE most important thing in a First Lady.

But no one normal would have looked at that and seen a plane hitting a tower. No one. Only the Trump-hating obsessives. Face it - you people are so far gone.

Maybe I'm spending too much time in the explicit section, but I didn't see a tower. Look at where it's placed and how is shaped.
