Thank you to everyone who keeps this thread going and keeps it positive! |
Anecdotal, I know- but I have about 10 friends/ acquaintances with covid right now, and everyone describes it as less debilitating (health wise) than many other colds their families have had in the before times. These are vaccinated/ boosted adults and their young kids. It gives me hope for when we eventually likely get it, that it might be so mild!! |
I know AT LEAST 3 people who currently have confirmed covid cases and have reported the same. (I know others who have suspected covid, not confirmed, and say this as well) Yes I know it's anecdotal but it's good to hear |
Wondering as well |
It looks like DC has hit its peak. We are down 6% now. I bet a week from now the numbers are going to look a lot more promising! |

This would be great. I keep looking for data that will help us know when we might be on the downhill trajectory. |
Omigod Omicron Can't wait till you are gone Met a beautiful girl A friend introduced her We spent the evening in a whirl But she didn't have a booster So, though it makes me feel like a churl I wish I had never seduced her. Now I wish I had been chaste And 7 beers I did not quaff Since I have lost my sense of taste And suffer from a persistent cough. |
I think the way DC is handling testing and schools is great news -- good data collection and getting kids tested and in schools (snowdays not included.)

Poem? Absolutely.
. this abundant love “Stay well” we say “Stay safe.” we say it to our friends our neighbors the checker at the store the woman at the drive through window. we long for the time when love was a hug a kiss a gift placed in a hand. Now love is a wave from afar driving by a house to hold up a sign for the birthday girl groceries left at a stranger’s doorstep hunting through the basement for a mask unused that might mean the life of a hero. we pour our love into a song sung a story read a picture drawn. it’s there in the teacher searching desk drawers in an empty classroom for hand sanitizer to give away tiny children dancing the prayers taught by their ancestors a loaf of bread passed from a full cart to an empty hand a wedding rescheduled an extra-large tip a thousand fostered kittens. the earth breathes we take a breath together for all the squeezing of the lungs our hearts are squeezed and though we’ve never met before it is the true deep wish of our breaking hearts as we part with “Stay well.” Anne Lenaburg Hamilton |
