Are you joking ? look at U16 and older standings in CCL, they are the ones getting owned

They win the club points every year which means that as a overall product, not just a age group Loudoun is incredibly competitive and consistent accross the board in the best regional league.

That may be the case, but it doesn't support the claim that they are the BEST CLUB IN THE AREA. My son is part of a strong group of U11 players that have played together for a few years and most of these kids are on a DA or elite club track. I don't think Loudoun is on anyone's radar for the next step, while DCU, Bethesda, VDA and Arlington certainly are. The comment about best regional league is confusing. I don't see Loudoun in EDP.

Anyone who has had older kids come up through travel soccer will tell you to pay no attention to who has the most wins at U9-U12.

So Loudoun booster.... please go through the CCL results the last couple of years and tell us how Loudoun compares to other CCL clubs on "club points" at U13 and above. For all I know Loudoun may still have the most "points" in the older ages. But that is the only club points metric that could convince me that Loudoun produces better teams than the other CCL clubs.

LOL!!!!

You mean a metric that demonstrates a clubs overall strength across genders and ages does not show the quality of the club as a whole? I'm sure you are concerned about your particular age group and gender but the ability to put out a consistent product from U9 on up on both the boys AND girls side shows tremendous club depth.

No, the ability to win games at U9 to U12 on a small-sided field going 8v8 tells me very little about how good a club's quality is. For all I know, a club winning all its games at U9-U12 is just picking the biggest fastest kids at U9 tryouts and teaching them to boot it up the field. That works for a while but not after about U13 or U14.

That is what I am asking you to demonstrate .... do they win more than Arlington, or BRYC, or Beach FC at U13 to U19 where the results of all the training actually begin to show. I am truly interested in finding out, thanks in advance.

EDP in our region is not strong. If you are in the brackets with the New Jersey teams sure, but our end of EDP does not compare to CCL.

Loudoun is a GDA feeder to the Spirit and has U12-U14 DA which would apply to your sons age group, so it is a destination at younger ages. Being on the DA track is not the same as being on the DA. There will be kids on your sons team that will be displaced by kids from other clubs. There is no loyalty in the DA.

Check out this article for La Masia. Basically an Academy approach would give you everything you would need to succeed, but drop you if they felt you weren't going to turn out to be what they thought. While the "free" approach may not work here in the U.S, I think their holistic approach and willingness to drop a player after season has ended is an approach USDA needs to adopt, if it hasn't already.

I think the real difference is the entitlement and expectations are vastly different between here and there. Pay to play creates a sense of entitlement that blurs the big picture and reality.

It STILL tells you jackshit because they start acquiring outside players at those older ages. Kids trained and developed elsewhere will start making moves into these clubs. Tells you zero about their training-just they are big and can recruit.

U9 - U11 is not even tracked for club points, so the only difference between you and the other guy is whether to include U12 or not. Not a big game-changer.

Soccer wise, we are paying our older children to teach the 2d grader how to juggle, and bribing him with a prize if he can get above 10 consistently (from our experience with the older kids, we have found that if you can get to 10, you can get to 100 pretty rapidly thereafter). All the kids do rec basketball in the winter for a change of pace.

I wish there were more futsal courts and leagues available near us.
