Biden's VP?

It would be happy day.

Someone who could step in on day 1 and liase with governors on behalf of the WH, and manage the federal pandemic response? And who's been at the forefront of racial issues in her state? And who seems to have little baggage? Sure, I'd be happy. I'd be equally happy with Rice, Warren, Bass, or Duckworth, just for different reasons. They all have different strengths.

The Democratic National Convention schedule is out.

Notable speakers by night:

M: Sanders, Cuomo, Whitmer, Kasich, Klobuchar, Michelle Obama.

T: Schumer, AOC, Bill Clinton, Jill Biden

W: Pelosi, HRC, Warren, the VP nom, Obama

Th: Booker, Newsom, Duckworth, Harris, Biden

— Dan Merica (@merica) August 11, 2020

No clues here, since the VP will just swap out the slot if it’s one of the scheduled speakers.

Pete’s not on the schedule? Hmm...

Nor Bass. Anyone think it's weird the CBC Chair isn't a scheduled speaker?

Yes, the CBC Chair normally speaks. The list probably isn't finished yet, just started with the most famous names.

No, we have. We’re talking about the fact that mainstream media is clearly in the tank for the GOP and is happy to do their bidding. Whether it’s talking about Benghazi as if Obama planned it all start to finish to kill his mortal enemies, about butteremails as if she was conspiring with Russia to steal the election, or talking about Donald Trump as if he was calm and presidential, the mainstream media can be called upon by the GOP to mislead the public.

LMAO. The mainstream media minus FOX news is not in the pro-Trump camp.

FOX has a huge base and they have been deriding Rice nonstop.

Fox viewers are not voting for Biden period.

Just checked an updated list. Clyburn is slated for Monday, but no Bass. Hmmm...

Monday: Michelle Obama; Bernie Sanders; Gretchen Whitmer; Andrew Cuomo; Jim Clyburn; John Kasich; Catherine Cortez-Masto; Amy Klobuchar; Bennie Thompson; Doug Jones and Gwen Moore.

Tuesday: Jill Biden; Bill Clinton; John Kerry; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez; Chuck Schumer; Sally Yates and Lisa Blunt-Rochester.

Wednesday: Nancy Pelosi; Hillary Clinton; Elizabeth Warren; Tony Evers; Michelle Lujan Grisham; Gabby Giffords; Barack Obama and whoever Biden chooses as his running mate.

Thursday: Joe Biden; The Biden Family; Cory Booker; Gavin Newsom; Keisha Lance Bottoms; Tammy Baldwin; Tammy Duckworth; Chris Coons and and Kamala Harris.

He's going to want to maximize the divisiveness that Harris caused by criticizing Biden. Probably "bus rider Kamala" or "little bus girl, Kamala". If she is the VP pick, then he will want to keep the way she pounced on Biden like an attack dog in the forefront of the voters minds to show that they are not a cohesive team.

No Raimondo either. Weird!

Given how white the Wed lineup is other than Obama (sorry not counting Grisham), I bet the VP pick is one of the Black women.

Because Trump and his team are so very tight -- until he fires them in a tweet and they write a best seller revealing what a $%^&show this administration is.

Is it Bass then? She seems the notable missing person from the list. Rice would not be a typical speaker at the DNC.

His first choice turned him down.

Kamala was the natural first choice for the name recognition. She didn’t want to gamble on Biden. The recent op-Ed by Willie was planted to let people know Kamala was asked but politely declined.

Then Biden needed to delay to find a plan B.

It better not be Rice. Even my most liberal pals acknowledge she has too many vulnerable areas ripe for criticism.

Crazy theory. Kamala wants it so bad she had her team do savage oppo dumps on Rice and Bass. No way in hell she’s turning it down. Every article reports she wants it badly.

Citation that the “savage oppo dumps” came from her?

It was reported in at least two articles that Dems believed the opposition dumps came from a rival. Who do you think they were thinking of, and David Axelrod?

David Axelrod

I can’t remember any VP selection process where so much oppo research has been dumped. If I were
@JoeBiden, looking for a good and loyal partner, that should be a source of concern.

All that is is Axelrod speculating.

I find it strange they'd make it so obvious, but maybe. She'd be a strong coalition pick who'd guarantee Black turnout and her colleagues seem to love her. Other than Warren, she's the only one who'd make progressives happy. Her fundraising event with Biden raised twice as much as expected.

But I also don't rule out sleight of hand. It's easy enough to shuffle things around once the pick is announced. We'll see soon enough!
