The Trump women and their fashion mishaps thread

1) the yellow dress is completely inappropriate once again - it’s a little too skinny cocktail for someone who is supposed to be governmental - but it actually fits. It’s ugly, but it fits.
2) can someone with greater familiarity with her type of Judaism please tell me how is this dress modest enough? I don’t remember what kind of Judaism she and her spouse practice (and the correct word is escaping me for the Jewish analogue of “synod” so I keep saying “type,” sorry) but I thought she was supposed to be somewhat more covered up?

Argh. Slinky cocktail, not skinny.

Can’t tell if this is the exact dress, as the right hip tucking isn’t visible on Ivanka, but it’s a clunker all round. The fabric is mostly poly and didn’t take a press above the slit. It doesn’t hang or move well on the model.

I think that’s the dress and it does look terrible. The model also inexplicably wears silver stilettos with it.

What kind of an explanation do you need? What would you style this dress with? That silver sandal actually looks better than Ivanka's choice. She's a master of making everything and herself looking old.

On 2, she’s modern orthodox (we go to the same synagogue sometimes). So while she would need to have her shoulders and arms covered to the elbow when in synagogue, the variations on what MO women wear outside synagogue are wide - some women cover their hair and wear only skirts and long sleeves all the time, but others dress as she is here.

This dress looks fine from front. From the back, it's weird. All black. Her expression and the continued forced gaiety are also annoying.

This one is just a perfect Ivanka. Context and others reactions to her never matter.

I think part of the issue with dressing her is she is slender but she has a very wide pelvis and knock knees and skinny ankles and long feet.

That yellow dress is not as bad as some of her others, but....doesn't seem appropriate for the occasion. Typical Ivanka that she has that huge smile, while everyone else in the picture looks unhappy.

T
ypical Ivanka that she has that huge smile, while everyone else in the picture looks unhappy.

Yeah, because if you don't grin or have an ear to ear toothy smile, you must be unhappy.
Any smile in staged photography is a fake smile.

She just lives for, in her words, these "princess moments" so it's full sorority girl cheese smile at all points.

Most of the dresses you are trashing are made by a very
very well respected Colombia designer Johanna Ortiz.

Yes the styles are somewhat different than what folks
where in DC but Ivanka is visiting Colombia.

It is very respectful to select and wear dresses from a Colombian designer when visiting the country.

You all are crazy and must dress like Walmart ladies.

The problem with the dresses is that they are inappropriate attire for a White House staffer. They are a visible reminder that she has created a Princess role that makes a mockery of American values.
