Western High School Boundary Map options (A/B/C/D)

The idea that the SB should make logistical decisions based on how many randos sign a petition is absurd. Draw the boundaries in a sensible way and be done with it.

They are going to decide the HS boundary and then adjust middle schools accordingly, not the other way around.

A good portion of Oak Hill already goes to Carson between AAP and the Emerald Chase neighborhood, so I suspect they will switch the rest to Carson. They are going to want a direct feeder from Carson to Skyview. The question is what do they do with anyone currently at Carson who does not end up at Skyview (potentially Fox Mill, Crossfield, portions of Floris).

One would hope all of Floris will end up at Skyview.

Ignoring constituents is a sure sign of political success.

+1

Option A plus all of Floris fits the criteria of boundary policy.

Is that for sure. Crossfield should be at Skyview or South Lakes if Fox Mill goes to Skyview.

Nope, it's just one PTO president's wishful thinking.

And nearly a thousand other people

LOL, a thousand other people? Are you going by your change.org petition? The one where you convinced everyone at Navy and Waples Mill to sign as well as everybody's mom, dad, and siblings that live out of town? LOLOL!!!

Where can I see this petition…

Use the search box. It's been linked to on this post

I am sure MT and cronies think they have this in the bag, will be interesting to see.

If they do anything with Crossfield, they should also eliminate the split between South Lakes, Chantilly, and Oakton. There's like 3-5 kids from the current 6th grade class going to Franklin/Chantilly, probably 15-30 going to Hughes/South Lakes, and the rest going to Carson/Oakton. It's hard enough switching schools, at least let the kids stick together. My kids' friend group will be completely split up..

Very few go to Chantilly, so they should clean that up.

Genuinely curious why if Oakton families want Crossfield to move per the post a few above this why would people from other elementary schools in that pyramid sign a petition in support of them staying?

Lots of Oakton families at schools that are not the ones that are super close to Fairfax HS.

30 % of the signers are from outside the area. And, there are 2 zips within the 70 % which are not Crossfield families. Except for Fox Mill Woods, Crossfield is 20171.
And it is not almost 1000.

All of that is also self reported and people can sign the petition many, many times. One of several reasons why change.org petitions can be very easily manipulated and no one should ever actually rely on them for true representation.
