They are going to decide the HS boundary and then adjust middle schools accordingly, not the other way around.

A good portion of Oak Hill already goes to Carson between AAP and the Emerald Chase neighborhood, so I suspect they will switch the rest to Carson. They are going to want a direct feeder from Carson to Skyview. The question is what do they do with anyone currently at Carson who does not end up at Skyview (potentially Fox Mill, Crossfield, portions of Floris).

I understand what you are saying, but once you add the Oak Hill kids into Skyview they no longer have room for all of the rest of the Carson kids. So by adding Oak Hill you are removing a group from Carson to Skyview which makes another split feeder. I have no dog in this fight, but looking at the maps I'd do this. Send Oak Hill to Westfield. It relieves Chantilly, fills space at Westfield that is left open, and allows Carson to flow directly to Skyview completely.

That would turn Oak Hill into a Westfield attendance island given the Westfield feeders that will move to Skyview.

Maybe you need a dog in the fight to avoid proposing such a terrible idea.

Ignoring constituents is a sure sign of political success.

Were you born yesterday? Politicians ignore their constituents all the time to do whatever fits their agenda. They don’t care as long as they have the backing of party operatives. They can afford to lose a few groups of people who are mad at them because there are plenty of other people who don’t pay attention and just blindly vote with their party. You don’t have nearly as much power as you think you do.

Oak Hill is the closest ES to Skyview. The kids would literally drive past it on their way to Westfield, that would make no sense.

Carson has capacity for the other Oak Hill kids now and it will have excess capacity when Franklin opens an AAP Center.

Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner! Dumbest suggestion yet.

anyone else get the letter saying they are holding a public hearing may 13 to make skyview a public high school

Maybe I misunderstood, but the email earlier tonight sounded like no maps will be presented tomorrow and instead they will appear for the May community meetings.

No, the initial draft scenarios will be shared tomorrow at the meeting. Revised scenarios to be shared in May.

Don’t be surprised if what they share tomorrow are just the same four options released last year.

I can’t believe how long this boundary process is taking. Is there just one intern working on this? With AI and everything available today, you’d think this could be done way faster

It is a puzzlement! Makes no sense.

Good Luck tonight at the Boundary "reveal".

They're posted, and it's an absolute TRAIN WRECK. They have schools moving all over the place, even at the ES level.

Why cannot they provide maps with roads that you can see? This looks like a convoluted mess. They could have also listed school changes so we could understand.

But, when you look at the team which created this, it kind of explains the mess.
