Skinny is the new moral/hard working and all other kind of superiority?

And why are you here?

So you don't want people to judge you for being thin? But, eating more "isn't the worst vice?" And you like being thin more than you enjoy eating? Your post presents overweight people as people with issues and terrible lives, but you don't think you are an oppressor?
Why don't you see the society that values slenderness that you have bought into as an oppressor of yourself? Is it bcs deep down you know you are a kind of oppressor to the overweight people, despite faking you are not?

One could equally assert that overweight people are oppressors of themselves.

Since every single overweight person I know who's lost weight felt proud and happy after doing so. Societally conditioned? Sure. Better health in the majority of cases? Also sure.

Because there is ZERO wrong, and a lot right, with sticking to a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. People on this board presenting it as some kind of a moral failing, or oppression ffs, are nuts. That isn't to say weight loss isn't a complex issue for many, but let's not throw the baby out with the bath water 'kay?

Um, the exact opposite is the topic of this thread. That your idea of morally succeeding causes you to perceive those that have not been successful at it as failing morally, for the most part.
Not just a simple failing either, more as a whole personal failure that you jduge them for. As your post clearly shows.

PP didn't say anything about being skinny. The focus is on good health, as it should be. Bodies will still come in different shapes and sizes due to genetics and other complex factors but who doesn't agree with maintaining a healthy diet and regular exercise? I do judge people who don't make at least a basic effort to maintain good health because, guess what, failure to do so costs the rest of us billions of dollars a year. Again, zero to do with being skinny per se.

Where did pp imply that she doesn’t care? Are you upset that she called you out?

For the MILLIONTH TIME: many of us fatties eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise. We still get the opprobrium from the skinnies and your ignorant judgment, but just because I’m obese does not mean I eat cake and a nice mug of hot fudge for breakfast, lunch and dinner with some gas station nachos for a snack.

Haha. No, I think he/she is insane. I haven't been "called out" on anything. What in the world? The entire DCUM forum is mostly people judging others for something or another, from what they brought to a potluck to what kind of haircut they give their 3rd grader. People opining on feeding your kid BK is going to get some negative comments. Big deal. If you don't like criticism, don't share any details about anything yourself of your life on DCUM.

PP never made any of these assertions; see bolded. I'm sorry the weight issue is causing you such torment.

Obesity is for me a sign of excess consumption and greed especially in the US.

Around the world the poor people are skinny. In US the poor people are fat and obese. But, if the obesity would have been contained to the poorest I could have said that the poor are obeses because they are eating poor quality food.

Unfortunately, obesity and being overweight is an issue even for the MC and UMC. It is disgusting. They know better, and they afford better.

If you are eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise, I suggest eating 1/2 the amount of the same healthy diet. And triple the amount of "regular exercise" that you are getting. I can bet you that you will start losing at the rate of at least 1/2 pound a week.

Follow the social media account of the "fat girl fed up" and you will see how an obese couple actually lost weight.

OP here. This is the exact kind of pp I am talking about in this thread. Sadly, she is not the only one. She is merely one among the many.

Excuses! The problem is that every human will make excuses for their own character flaws. Gluttony is a flaw. Many of us also struggle with weight and we are fully aware that we put on pounds when we eat like pigs during the holidays. What makes you so special? All the people who are exercising and making good food choices and trying to lose weight are not doing it because it is pleasurable and easy. We are doing it to become healthier and also to look better. For most of us, it is a daily choice to do the right thing. We also don't want to be a burden on society and our families. Besides, if we are in a romantic relationship we want our partner to find us attractive too.

If you were so comfortable and happy with your weight you would not have started this thread. You certainly have the choice to stuff yourself with food that your body does not need. However, the pleasure you get out of food is not translating to happiness in your life, is it? And you certainly are out of line to try and be the thought police for those who think that you are out of control. Why do you care? Go inhale some nachos and soda and remain happy.

I honestly think that a lot of people who say they eat “healthy”, actually are not eating as healthy as they think they are. Whether it’s people stuck in the low-fat mindset, people who still take the food pyramid as gospel, or people who eat larger portions than they realize, it all contributes to overall weight gain. Even just committing to eat half of the meal you order when you go out is a step in the right direction. Portion sizes in this country are out of control.

You sound like fun. LOL

Personally I’d rather hang out with someone overweight but who has a good, kind soul and a sharp, interesting life of the mind than someone mean-spirited, shallow and judgmental about other people’s bodies.

—someone not overweight but also not obsessed with my or others’ physical state.

Yep, the pretense has gone away on this thread too. You should post, yes op, you are right, I despise overweight people and think they are moral and other failures. I judge them al the time.
