It will not be Harris. Not only does she bring no added value to the ticket (no real appeal to black voters), she did not endorse Biden before the California primary. |
Whitmer hasn't been governor for long but she seems to have a pretty good track record in Michigan and is pretty popular as a Democrat who's made real progress addressing bread and butter issues important to her state. |
And I would argue that governor of a populous purplish state with its share of financial challenges is more valuable experience than serving a term in the US Senate. |
+1 and both sides of the state legislature she’s dealing with are Republican. Hideously gerrymandered, but Republican. |
You guys keep saying that and there’s no evidence for it. Your second point is a good one, though. |
Chief of staff first. Then moving on to Sec State or Defense or UN |
She could help win MN, WI, Michigan, Ohio, PA. She could pull female voters away from Trump. She could bring young people out because she would be the first female and she is everything HRC wasn’t. She is a great speaker. She is younger and remember Obama did not have much experience either. She would be the strongest pick. |
I agree with all of this, and think she would be absolutely fantastic. |
That’s a GREAT idea. Not sure he would take it because I can’t imagine being electable after that gig. |
I can digggit I can digggit He can digggit he can digggit She can digggit she can digggit.... Can you digggit? ![]() ![]() |
No, I think experience really matters for chief of staff. That's a tough gig, the person needs to really know how Washington works not learn on the fly. |
DP, 100% this. But I like the idea in principle. He will land on good footing as long as he keeps his integrity and stays true to himself. |
The prospect of Whitmer as VP has me very excited, hope it goes that way! |
Not to be a cliche but OMG Demings does not look anywhere near 62. I thought she was at least ten years younger than that. |
