They stopped recording Presidential conversations in the 70s for security reasons.

Give me a break! That’s it? Trump is right, this was a nothing phone call. All I see here is the Ukrainian President doing some ass kisisng, President Trump rushing through the call, and suggesting in passing that the Ukrainian President, who ran on an anti-corruption platform, look into whether Joe Biden and his son engaged in corruption in his country. And he offered the assistance of the US Attorney General and his personal attorney if helpful. That’s it. No connection to military or other aid of any kind, or any other quid pro quo. If this is all the Dems have, then what an embarrassment! There is no chance this will succeed in any way. Just goes to show that the Dems now realize they can’t win the next election and that this is their best hope of getting rid of the President. It’s absolutely hysterical. I must say, I feel better than ever about his 2020 chances. What a farce this is!

Ask yourself this question: if Obama said the exact same things with a foreign government (such as Russia) and replaced Biden with Trump, would you call this a "farce" or a political witch hunt? You're being willfully blind if you don't see the hypocrisy.

I would have said the exact same, that it’s a nothing call. Except Obama wouldn’t have said it, because that wasn’t his style. Just because it’s Trump’s type, though, doesn’t make it criminal or impeachable.

To answer your question, other people think it’s bad because they have a political agenda and know they can’t oust the President democratically in the next election. So they resort to these tactics, which undermine our democracy. You should be honest with yourself please.
