Yes, there is always something around the corner when you have an administration like this one who blocks, obstructs, and withholds so much information. Illegaly. How about those tax returns? |
The same people, no doubt, that for two long years breathlessly discussed Trump colluding with Russia. And, we know how that turned out. |
Sorry, there is no law that requires a President, or anyone for that matter, to disclose their tax returns. Next? |
You sound intellectually lazy. It doesn't look like you did much research into why the other side thinks what they do. It looks like you just projected your own explanation and are satisfied with it because it doesn't disturb your world view. |
There was a direct connection between military aid and investigations. Zelenskyy said: "I would also like to thank you for your great support in the area of defense. We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes." This is an obvious reference to the military aid that was being withheld. and Trump replied: "I would like you to do us a favor though..." and went on to talk about Crowdstrike and Biden. The clear implication is that the military aid was linked to these two investigations. |
The tax returns were just meant to be an example of information that Trump hides, and people like you unquestioningly go along with. How about the whistleblower complaint? There is a law about that. And it says nothing about the DoJ having access to it. |
I'm sure Putin has a recording. I hope this is accurate from the WH because, if not, they've just created more kompromat. |
I'd like to see the original notes of the people who listen to the call to develop the transcript. |
The second part of the Mueller Report lays out the many detailed ways that Trump obstructed justice. Because he obstructed justice, the investigation could not prove conspiracy. It's a literal playbook for prosecution after Trump leaves office or for impeachment while still in it. https://www.lawfareblog.com/obstruction-justice-mueller-report-heat-map scroll down to the chart. For those areas where all three boxes are red: that's crime which is impeachable for a president and prosecutable for a citizen. |
and how many times people thought "wtf?" |
Way too vague in my opinion, and that was coming from Zelenskyy. For all we know, the military aid was being withheld to induce Ukraine to order the Javelins, not investigate Biden. Just like the Mueller report, there are hints of impropriety if you are so inclined, but nothing concrete. It seems pretty clear to me that the Ukrainian President was out to please Trump, and would have done any favor with no strings attached. But here the favor was investigating corruption involving our former VP Biden, which honestly he should be doing anyway. There is no proven or proveable connection to aid of any kind. But I’m sure the conspiracy theorists will insist that Trump told Zelenskyy to stay at a Trump Tower to line his pockets just because he mentioned that too. This is called grasping at straws. |
Nope. I put very little credibility in Lawfare. Isn't this the same group that the person Comey leaked to is editor? Why, yes, it is. |
The Ukrainian government shared its concerns it was being pressured to investigate Biden with several credible witnesses, so you're the one grasping at straws. |
There actually is a law that requires the IRS to release the tax returns of the President, or anyone for that matter, to the Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee once requested by that committee. Trump is currently in violation of that law. |
This is only vague if you are being intentionally obtuse. Again, Trump responds to Zelenskyy's desire to move ahead with military aid by saying, "I would like you to do us a favor though...". Clearly, the "though" means Trump wants the favor first. There is no legitimate reason for the President of Ukraine to investigate Vice President Biden. There is no hint of Biden breaking any Ukrainian laws. |
