More defections from DA to ECNL

Or at least … if a club isn't being mentioned at all, it is probably not worth having your kids sign up for if they are at all interested in quality competition. At the same time, if you're just looking for something above rec level but not super competitive, drama filled, and loaded with insane parents, then avoid the clubs most often mentioned.

Here are the oft mentioned clubs. You choose to head towards or to avoid:

Loudoun*, FCV**, McLean*, BRYC*, VDA*, Wash Spirit** (girls only), DCU Academy** (boy's only), Bethesda*, SYC, LMVSC, Arlington**

*ECNL
**DA

You forgot Barca!

So the DA/ECNL clubs in the area plus those others? I can guess where your child doesn’t play.

Huh? No, these just have the most frequent posts on this forum. Don’t read more into this than what was written. Seems to be a lot of SYC and LMVSC love/hate on this forum.

Curious on NE clubs...they really have nowhere to go. ECNL on lock-down in NE and parents want to claim little Suzie is playing in ECNL or DA so they have to take something.

Socal Blues rumor has been swirling for a while on various boards, so shall be interesting.

Announcements from ECNl will come around May 1 to spark excitement around tryout season. I expect one or two shockers that will strengthen ECNL.

Announcements from DA (after Colorado showcase) will come around the same time.

DA is looking to consolidate by removing poor performing clubs. (Huge compliant by the top clubs traveling long distances to dominate their opponents. Its becomes expensive and not meaningful.

The next couple of weeks will be interesting.

Ecnl is looking to improve their product as well as bring back the tier 1 clubs.
