Bc quite frankly, FCPS buses suck.

Navy is a center school and the kids would be in the bus longer. It’s on the way to work for parents and they don’t have time to hang out at the bus stop. Parents are already dropping little siblings off off at preschool/daycare.

Those are just SOME of the reasons I can come up with. Come on, PP.

Are you seriously that dumb? Who has time to hang around a bus stop every am. Certainly not working parents.

But, they have time to waste at Kiss and Ride?

Get there when it opens up and then you’re on the road immediately. I’ve done it for 10 years and it’s by far the most efficient.

I assume you are referring to the entitled line cutters/ people who are making u-turns in the middle of a busy, backed up road because they can’t get their life together and get in a damn kiss a ride line the normal way like the rest of us. Because, yes, I agree. Those parents. Eye roll. Lolz.

Yea, let's all listen to the person that says "lolz."

My kids bus often doesn't show up in the morning, but is regularly on time in the afternoon.

Asian parents don't do busses. They spoil, spoil, spoil their young children.

Hm, we are working parents and for the most part, the bus arrives at the same time every day. It takes 5-10 (depending on how far away your stop is) minutes to walk to the bus stop, wait 2 minutes until the bus rolls up, then walk home. Unlike the 30-45 minutes people spend doing kiss and ride. I get that some people drop their kids off on the way to work, but it still seems like a huge waste of time. I get dressed, walk my kids to the bus stop, then hop in the car and go to work.

There's nothing wrong with that, Karen. Everyone is free to do as they please. Go find a hobby.

It’s not just FCPS, it’s the nature of buses in general. I rode a bus from K-12 and hated it. There was a shortage of bus drivers even decades ago when I went to school and they crammed as many kids inside as possible. Always overcrowded year after year. I don’t blame anyone for choosing to drive if that’s what they believe is best for their kids and they have the flexibility to make it happen.

I do think riding a bus saves time and effort on the part of the parents - obviously since it’s free and you just walk to a bus stop. But people have always been willing to spend time and effort on their children; so if a kiss a ride line requires sacrifices, it is natural that these parents are more than willing to do it for their kids.

+1 this. They are too crowded, 3 to a seat sometimes. Germ magnets. No thank you!

Well there it is. If your kids ride the bus you are a bad lazy parent, and if you do kiss and ride you’re a good parent who is willing to sacrifice for their children. And it’s ok to endlessly complain that kiss and ride isn’t totally to your liking, even though it’s a choice you are making, because it’s the one that must be made if you care about your children. Good parenting means you do everything possible to remove any possible sources of minor inconvenience or discomfort.

If people want to know why Navy has the reputation it does, look no further than posts like the PP.
