The reveal of Matt Healy as Taylor Swift's fixation gave Healy and his band more exposure, added a disappointing backstory to Taylor's new album, and, took air out of the Taylor/Travis story much faster and more effectively than would have happened anyway in the football offseason. |
Huh I had no idea Swift and Kelce parents were divorced! I think bc both have such a wholesome Americana persona. Surprised me. |
There is a photo of young Taylor & Matty there with Tree Pine?! She has probably been covering up for them and coming up with PR relationships for Taylor for a long time. |
Here, I found one possible location for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18Reh16Rh3Y "A lovely, little country estate that happens to have a recording studio in it." 😳 Didn't she live in England for a year after the Kanye drama and before releasing Reputation? |
That’s not Tree - its Florence Welch. Matty was there for the recording of Florida! |
Yes! |
Listening to ttpd made me feel like I finally solved a riddle. So many songs from folklore to midnights even 1989 make so much more sense now. |
❤️ Loose lips sink ships all the damn time, but not this time |
I would argue that the reason he left her was the same reason he didn't want to date her years ago: the 1975. |
Reputation and Lover too. I think many songs on those albums are about Matty. Example from Rep: “You and me, we got big reputations, You and me, we'd be a big conversation. You so dope, don't overdose. Knew her when I was young Reconnected when we were little bit older.” Example from Lover: And I can see us twisted in bedsheets August sipped away like a bottle of wine 'Cause you were never mine. Cancel plans just in case you'd call…” |
I feel for their current partners. It must suck knowing that you are someone’s second best, and the only reason your partner is not with their true love is because of circumstances and public opinion. |
+1. These two are one emotional phone call or romantic, groveling love song away from each other. |
I actually don't believe that they are "true love". It's like the dog that catches the car-- they didn't quite know what to do once they were both actually single and free to be together. It was much more exciting when it was a clandestine love affair, sending coded messages back and forth. When they finally got together it was a little too real for Matty. That's why it imploded so quickly. Public opinion was a convenient excuse. |
