Looks like a new Gaza war has started

If you want to know why our enemies have no problems starting wars, yesterday Biden was rambling about dogs in lakes, then freezing up and staring off into space.

Trump scared our enemies, Biden emboldens them.

We are helpless. Petroleum reserve empty. Ammunition empty. Military can’t recruit. Military focused on pronouns, abortion and sex change operations.

Liberal derangement always ends up in catastrophic situations.

Almost nothing you say is true. And you clearly have no experience in the military. Wow. I don't know if your deranged, lied to, or just purposely dishonest

Just ignore it, PP. That poster is paranoid and has the mind of a child. If it can’t be dumbed down into a two word phrase, then they can’t understand it.

Maybe both should just move somewhere else and the region should be under different rule like it was 850 years ago.

I'm sick of it. I lived in the Middle East as a child and was evacuated right before the 1967 war. I can't believe this s**t is still going on 50+ years later! These two will still be standing and fighting each other when the earth ends.

Agree. I'm tired of it and tired of hearing about it. They've both done things to wrong the other. They both hate each other. I don't care who first had the land, who has the right to the land, blah, blah, blah. I just don't care.

The average person doesn’t care. True.

But certain governments care. It’s a geopolitical chess game with Israel and Hamas playing the role of an eternal powder keg of nothing but trouble…impacting countries not only in the region but also allies or instigators elsewhere.

Israel/Palestine
Ukraine/Russia
Saudis Arabia
US
North Korea
China
Lebanon
Iran
Etc.

While everyone is sick of the nonsense, we don’t have the luxury of washing our hands of the situation…because everything has a consequence.

The never ending conflict is essentially managed by periodic escalation and deescalation. But nothing is ever really resolved.

This is why we wash our hands of it. And I'm seriously interested in knowing --- what have we concretely received (in at least the last 50+ years) in involving ourselves betweeen these two entities? Or anywhere in the Mideast?

Um…a non-Arab civilized government that is our ally and provides a counterbalance bargaining chip as well as a strategically positioned foothold in a region plagued by religious extremism and corrupt Arab politics…

I know we aren’t supposed to say this out loud, but the Arab men running that part of the world routinely do wacky things that sometimes create problems for the rest of the world. And sometimes US interests require us to take action. Israel plays a role on Team USA when we are dragged into this nonsense to protect our end game.

Beyond oil, our global world and lessons learned post 9/11 require us to anticipate all kinds of bad stuff that could harm us domestically and abroad. It’s easy to imagine the clusterfu@$ that could occur if Arab nations join together to launch a holy war against the west. I mean, those guys have buckets of money, oil, weapons, etc. They also have big numbers of men who already drank the juice…not to mention economic interests and real estate in the US.

Anyone who thinks this isn’t complicated is clueless.

If this is verified, we can all agree that it's horrific. But if you are at all rational, you've got to put this into its historical context, where for 70 years Israel and its most fervent supporter, the US, have denied the basic means of statehood to Palestinians. Israel has turned Palestinians into monsters. Yes, these are monsters who attacks Israel today, no one disputes that! But they were made because Israel has stolen their ancestral lands and entirely restricted their population's job market. What do young men do when they're forcibly unemployed and raised from birth with Israeli surveillance and brutality?

They take it out on innocents, and not-so-innocents who vote for the Israeli right-wing and those who support encroachment on Palestinian lands.

This is a case where both leaderships have done dastardly deeds, PP. The ones who suffer most are always the most vulnerable: women and children. But the real evil-doers, however hard it is for you to understand, are not the monsters running about in the streets. They're the besuited politicians who condemmed their populations to indefinite suffering for not allowing land, water access and statehood for Palestine. If Palestine had been a functional state from the beginning, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

The lessons is always this: comfortable populations have no reason to go fighting elsewhere. Bring people out of poverty, given them safety and economic opportunity, a means to access food and shelter for their families, and they won't have murderous resentments against their wealthier neighbors. See French revolution.

You'd think that after millennia of history repeating this cycle everywhere in the world, humans would know this. But they don't.

I’m the PP you are responding to, and I do not accept your apologist horror. I know perfectly well that if there existed an Israeli version of that awful video, you’d be baying for Israeli blood. There is monstrosity in what you’ve written here, with your excuses, your minimizing, and your defense of the indefensible.

Also, I’m not Jewish. And in the past I’ve been a critic of Israeli policies. But this is true horror beyond anything I’ve ever seen committed by Israel. Your horrific defense makes me further convinced of that.

DP. There are many many videos and images of Israeli atrocities. Just because you choose to ignore them does not make them go away. Jeff does not allow those video or images because they are snuff video and images and very sickening. As of August over 200 Palestinians have been killed by Israel this year.

And none of the videos are this bad. Who said anything about Jeff? If you want to see videos of Israeli violence, it’s easy to find on Arab media. No need to bring the videos to DCUM. It is trivial, in fact, because it’s endlessly looped.

I’ve seen plenty of videos of Israeli violence in Arab news, which I follow closely. Yet none of the videos are this bad. None.

Sure keep telling yourself that.

There is a very, very easy way to prove me wrong. Yet you can’t.

That said, innocents from the entire region will suffer and was kills indiscriminately.

Best thing for peace which will never happen is let them duke it out and the spoils go to the victor and any uprising can never happen with Jews having upper hand. But global politics will always use the hatred as leverage to have whomever needs to fight engage war. That's just human nature sigh..

It'll be over but the potential for uprising will continue. Now that Iran has money and Russia is v US and SA will align with Arab countrymen, the bloodshed will continue.

What Israel has is a never ending supply of destructive weapons and the shield of powerful states. Israel is like a toddler hiding behind a parent and throwing stones at a beat up old dog ; the toddler screams when the abused, desperate dog goes in for a bite.

Huh.

I’ve always thought as Israel as a Jewish state (created as a result of the horrific holocaust) striving to sustain a civilized democracy while unfortunately situated in a region of Arab nations prone to religious extremism with antisemitic tendencies.

Your “toddler hiding behind an adult” analogy is sorta baffling, pp.

And get the feeling that Hamas is about to FAAFO? I think Israel is about to take the gloves off. I feel bad for the 40% of Palestinians that don’t support Hamas and those just trying to go about their (soon to be shortened) lives.

Did you miss the pics of the little Palestinian kids toting weapons in celebration of the attacks? Pretty sure Hamas gets credit for starting a war, pp.
