Looks like a new Gaza war has started

I see we are still waiting for the Hamas supporters in this thread to find one of the many thousands of videos they claim exist of Israelis dragging the naked desecrated corpse of a young Palestinian woman through the streets while other Israelis cheer and spit on the body. Still waiting, I guess.

I'm sick of it. I lived in the Middle East as a child and was evacuated right before the 1967 war. I can't believe this s**t is still going on 50+ years later! These two will still be standing and fighting each other when the earth ends.

Agree. I'm tired of it and tired of hearing about it. They've both done things to wrong the other. They both hate each other. I don't care who first had the land, who has the right to the land, blah, blah, blah. I just don't care.

The average person doesn’t care. True.

But certain governments care. It’s a geopolitical chess game with Israel and Hamas playing the role of an eternal powder keg of nothing but trouble…impacting countries not only in the region but also allies or instigators elsewhere.

Israel/Palestine
Ukraine/Russia
Saudis Arabia
US
North Korea
China
Lebanon
Iran
Etc.

While everyone is sick of the nonsense, we don’t have the luxury of washing our hands of the situation…because everything has a consequence.

The never ending conflict is essentially managed by periodic escalation and deescalation. But nothing is ever really resolved.

This is why we wash our hands of it. And I'm seriously interested in knowing --- what have we concretely received (in at least the last 50+ years) in involving ourselves betweeen these two entities? Or anywhere in the Mideast?

Um…a non-Arab civilized government that is our ally and provides a counterbalance bargaining chip as well as a strategically positioned foothold in a region plagued by religious extremism and corrupt Arab politics…

I know we aren’t supposed to say this out loud, but the Arab men running that part of the world routinely do wacky things that sometimes create problems for the rest of the world. And sometimes US interests require us to take action. Israel plays a role on Team USA when we are dragged into this nonsense to protect our end game.

Beyond oil, our global world and lessons learned post 9/11 require us to anticipate all kinds of bad stuff that could harm us domestically and abroad. It’s easy to imagine the clusterfu@$ that could occur if Arab nations join together to launch a holy war against the west. I mean, those guys have buckets of money, oil, weapons, etc. They also have big numbers of men who already drank the juice…not to mention economic interests and real estate in the US.

Anyone who thinks this isn’t complicated is clueless.

I'm not sure why you are so smug. The conflict in this area goes back generations. Which means there are a lot of "clueless" people who have and are involved. Including you. You've given the talking points. But what are the concrete benefits we've received from meddling in the Mideast? "Playing a role" when arabs cause issues isn't an example. Moreover, lots of "whacky" men in lots of places cause lots of problems for us and other countries. Why am I supposed to care more about Israel?

Spot on.....

"Note as well that the Biden administration has siphoned off key weapons and munitions from stockpiles inside Israel to transfer them to Ukraine. The so-called “War Reserve Ammunition—Israel" is all but depleted of just the sorts of weapons needed in the present crisis.

In this regard is there not a pattern here?

Upon the ascension of Biden and his woke military agendas, we saw the following: the complete humiliation of the U.S. in Kabul in its most shameful flight in 50 years and greatest abandonment of equipment in its history; followed by Vladimir Putin’s opportunistic invasion of Ukraine; followed by China’s new belligerence and escalating threats to Taiwan; followed by Turkey’s new de facto alliance with Russia and recent drone encounter with the U.S. air force in Syria; followed by the Hamas/Iranian inspired attack on Israel—with more to come unfortunately.

And will Biden finally get the message from the attacks on the Ukraine and Israeli borders, that borders matter and we too are being invaded, with the encouragement of the Mexican government and to the advantage of the cartels whose fentanyl exports kills 100,000 Americans a year."

Think of it this way: it’s waaaaay more complicated than the average Joe can imagine, so thank goodness experts in foreign affairs, global economics, and military strategy are evaluating the pros and cons of taking action versus standing down.

Surely you could imagine what might have happened had the world left Israel to defend itself for all these years, right?

Note: we aren’t the only ones who need a non-Arab ally in the powder keg.

Siphoning off some weapons from Ukraine has zero impact on today's activities. None.

+1.

It’s like every important issue is in the toilet. It’s really difficult to do a worse job than Biden. The war in Europe is a debacle and insanely dangerous. Biden is focused on military abortion. It’s really quite pitiful and weak.

So you also are hoping for Jared to get back to the negotiating table since he did such a stellar job of bringing peace to the middle east.

In all these decades, they have demonstrated no will or capacity to govern effectively for the benefit of the people. Palestinians are despised everywhere in the region - Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia. They have no allies left except the Iranians.

This morning I watched Hamas massacre families in their homes and in their cars. I have seen Israeli women abducted and taken into Gaza. I have seen one Israeli woman, naked, obviously dead, all her limbs broken, being paraded through Gaza in the back of a pick truck as young boys spat on her. This is the hatred that Israelis are confronting.

In the months ahead, Gaza will be destroyed. Thousands of Palestinians are going to die. Palestinians will never be allowed to be in a position where they can cross the border again. Life was already pretty grim in Gaza. And it's going to get a lot grimmer in the decades ahead.

And for what? They have a day to kill Israeli civilians. And they will be paying for it for generations.

Well said.
I think Hamas has underestimated Israel. And, I think they are unaware of what is yet to come.

Yes, I expect Gaza to be leveled. I expect that they'll leave a scorched earth demilitarized zone so that this will never happen again there. It will likely cause a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Gaza will be leveled and then returned to Israel. Palestinians living there will be deported to Fatah governed land. I hope they have space for them. After all Abbas said he supported the attacks.

Give them 2-3 days to come after israel for retaliating. I’m sure they’ll have plenty to say then, but apparently nothing now about a mother and her babies kidnapped, or a young woman probably raped, murdered, and paraded to celebrating Palestinians. Celebrating!

That said, innocents from the entire region will suffer and was kills indiscriminately.

Best thing for peace which will never happen is let them duke it out and the spoils go to the victor and any uprising can never happen with Jews having upper hand. But global politics will always use the hatred as leverage to have whomever needs to fight engage war. That's just human nature sigh..

It'll be over but the potential for uprising will continue. Now that Iran has money and Russia is v US and SA will align with Arab countrymen, the bloodshed will continue.

What Israel has is a never ending supply of destructive weapons and the shield of powerful states. Israel is like a toddler hiding behind a parent and throwing stones at a beat up old dog ; the toddler screams when the abused, desperate dog goes in for a bite.

Exactly - we are pro rape and pedophilia as tools of war.

That’s the reality. And I’m not sure how you work towards a viable solution when that is the reality.

Because of Twitter, we can hear the cheers from Iran, Qatar, Hezbollah, the Taliban, etc.

It’s baffling to see Arab religious extremism around the globe calling for death to Israel in 2023. Baffling.

I cannot wrap my head around the rationalizing of the attack by Hamas earlier today.

Are you on drugs? When has the violence stopped against the Palestinians. What single day has there ever been freedom from military occupation, apartheid, oppression since the wholesale dispossession by millions of Palestinians?

Ukraine is getting already-mothballed Western ordnance (stuff nobody wants). The Israelis employ the most advanced systems on Earth employing both top of the line Western and domestic systems.

There are tens of thousands of videos of Palestinian children killed and maimed. Too many to count at this point. I guess we’ll just hear “Hamas started it” as Israel mows the grass.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-60173481.amp

I suppose since I don’t have a dog in this fight I’ll take my cues from the Palestinians who are sick of Hamas and their medieval, counterproductive terrorist approach to “leadership” that has resulted in nothing but violence for decades.

Read the bbc piece about the anti-Hamas sentiment from Palestinians. I believe them. The good Palestinians could totally coexist with Israel if only the religious extremists in Hamas would disappear.

Here’s a thought: let’s build a place for Hamas and all the other religious extremists who think women are property, gays should be thrown off buildings, and death to the west is a cool chant. Put it in the middle of Syria and wall them in. They can have their own north-Koreaesque bizarro world while the rest of us pursue peace.

Right. So find a video of Israelis doing the same thing as what today’s videos show. Apparently there are thousands of similar videos, according to you.

Look, this should be easy based on what you and other Hamas supporters in this thread claim. Unless, of course, you’re just lying.

Prove to me you are right. It should be easy for you to find a similar video of Israelis desecrating the naked corpse of a young Palestinian woman while other Israeli onlookers cheer on. You keep telling me thousands of these videos exist. So produce just one of them.
