wow, what a stupid post.

+1. I guess PP doesn’t remember that the House was voting in Clinton’s impeachment while he and his family were lighting the White House Christmas Tree.

And Clinton's popularity went up dramatically after the impeachment.

The question is whether citizens regard impeachment for lying under oath about a blowjob as being significantly different from impeachment for using national security money to pay a foreign government to interfere in our elections.

You may not like hearing this but most Americans don't give a crap about this for two reasons: first, they believe the entire process is partisan and second, they hear about Hunter Biden making out like a bandit - even if it was legal - and they realize that the system is fundamentally corrupt.

And yet, they voted for one of the corrupted system's biggest practitioners and beneficiaries in Trump.

I don't want to offend anyone.

I think the correct greeting is "Happy Impeachmas." This is what all the liberals on Twitter are celebrating.

Because, you know, it's a prayerful and solemn event.

That is idiotic, though. There is no comparing the two things. Trump is the President of the United States and withheld U.S. government support from a country at war in order to demand a personal political benefit, and he directed and/or caused at least a half dozen other U.S. officials to become co-conspirators. That is a betrayal of the country by the President.
Hunter Biden is a private lawyer and business executive who may have been overpaid by a private company for his legal and management services.

They announced six hours of debate at noon.

The Hunter Biden thing doesn't fly when it comes to the Trump family because it's pretty clear that the Trump kids are feeding from the trough. But, that does at least reinforce the idea that the system is corrupt.

The crucifixion comparisons are really more of an Easter impeachment argument.

So, it's pretty easy to take the Dems at face value when they say they're doing it because a President shouldn't be allowed to use public money to invite a foreign power to interfere in our elections on his behalf.

Oh, I think the Democrats thought that there would be upside in trying to damage Trump. It may end up misfiring badly based on the recent polling. Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress are pretty nebulous concepts to most Americans. And, quite honestly, it does not help when the front runner for the Democratic nomination has a son who was totally unqualified for the position he got in Ukraine making a million dollars a year ..... quite apart from his personal foibles. It affirms for most Americans that the system is fundamentally corrupt.

Except for the ABC poll, the other polls show more Americans support impeachment and removal. And an astounding 74% of those polled want the Senate to have legitimate witnesses at the Removal proceedings.

There was a Gallup poll and one by USA today as well as one by CNN ....... all showed declining support for impeachment. All in the past couple of days.

Popular or not, it’s the right thing to do. No one is above the law.

To paraphrase Tennyson: "Into the Valley of Death rode the Democrats"

Exactly. Sometimes doing the right thing is very hard. Yet it must still be done.

Of course, that is from Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade" and as a result of a flawed order that was given, 600 British soldiers rode to their death ....... the followed the order though they knew it was flawed. They did the "right thing" and were slaughtered.

Better to be slaughtered than to be an amoral Republican.
