Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

Signed, a liberal feminist me-too supporting woman who thinks Amber used the me-too movement to up her notoriety and has now had it rightfully backfire in her face.

I think Heard was using MeToo for her career AND that Depp was an abuser. Her behavior sucks but I don’t understand how that makes her guilty of defamation. If Depp didn’t want to be called out as an abuser, he should not have engaged in abusive behavior.

She can always lean on Elon for financial help.

"The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband," Heard said.

That's her story and she's sticking to it! It was all because of Depp's sway, despite a "mountain of evidence." SMH.

She’s right and I’m heartbroken for her. Depp was abusive and she had every right to write her op Ed and share her experience with an abuser. That she is imperfect as a victim doesn’t negate his abuse. It also doesn’t mean she defamed him. Sad day for women but this is the direction our country is headed in so not a total surprise. Soon you’ll be able to beat and terrify women with impunity.

+1 sad day for women

Oh please.

This is a case where a woman who is desperate for fame saw the value of leveraging the me too movement for her own narcissistic goals. She too advantage of the “believe all women” stance to ruin a man for her own gain.

I have experienced SA myself and am disgusted by her.

He ruined himself, FFS. What’s with this absurd narrative that a woman is out to ruin a man when she asserts she’s been abused. Maybe she wants justice.

Also, being a survivor doesn’t make you immune from being wrong on this issue.

+1 she didn’t even name him. How does he even know if it was her statement or his substance abuse problems that caused him to lose roles? Hope he never works again due to this stunt.

The ACLU said explicitly that it was about him.

He’ll work again. In fact he’s already signed to be in Beetlejuice 2. Amber on the other hand is going to be fully blacklisted.

Not just the ACLU! Amber herself said it was about him during her last cross examination on the stand. This argument holds no weight. None.

I was expecting the jury to come back and tell both of them that they need to go into intensive therapy and rehab.

So much disrespect for the court system and the jurors. And generally everyone.

You suckers.

Why? He’s suing her! You all just want drama. Neither one “needs” to be there.

You are a f’ing moron. Yes he should have been there. For Two more days after districting everyone’s lives. Yes plaintiffs are always there for verdict.

Looks like his addiction is back that he couldn’t restrain himself and stay for a few more days.

No, he hasn't. That is fangirl speculation.

No… he had prescheduled gigs with Jeff Beck. Nothing to do with addiction.

Only one of her counter-claims was successful and that wasn't even against Depp but his agent and was for only $2M.

Furthermore, in the court of public opinion, I don't think Depp has ever been more popular. She, though....I don't think she's going to have many opportunities going forward.

No. Any decent human thinks he’s a POS after this.

The campaign online to clear Depp is just another form of MAGA in this country.

Like literally…when you’re a star, they let you do it - here - the “it” is beat your wife.

Completely unsurprised by the disgusting Pieces of Sh!T that surround us here in the good ol’ USA!

He didn't beat his wife.

The UK court found he did.

It wasn't a jury trial. One magistrate made that decision, and what were the standard in the uK court?

And the judge had a conflict of interest with the Sun.

He won regardless...so no - he didn't need to be there.

Amber lied on the stand. She screwed herself over. An expert testified that some of her photos had been edited, or dates changed. Police officers testified that they saw no marks on her when she claimed to have been beaten. The make up that seemed to have worked miracles didn't exist when she claimed to have used it.

Where were the recordings of him being abusive? She recorded herself.

How could the jury believe anything she said?

Agree with this take generally. To me the audio tapes prove they both abused each other so I’m not really convinced there was any defamation occurring. I am very sure they both need massive amounts of therapy and no normal person should be in a relationship with either of them.

I was hoping they'd give each one $20 in damages and call it a day.

The UK courts would find your post to be deformation.

UK courts are more respected than American juries.
Maybe his name is cleared here, but movie stars still need international appeal
