That's her story and she's sticking to it! It was all because of Depp's sway, despite a "mountain of evidence." SMH.

She’s right and I’m heartbroken for her. Depp was abusive and she had every right to write her op Ed and share her experience with an abuser. That she is imperfect as a victim doesn’t negate his abuse. It also doesn’t mean she defamed him. Sad day for women but this is the direction our country is headed in so not a total surprise. Soon you’ll be able to beat and terrify women with impunity.

+1 sad day for women

Oh please.

This is a case where a woman who is desperate for fame saw the value of leveraging the me too movement for her own narcissistic goals. She too advantage of the “believe all women” stance to ruin a man for her own gain.

I have experienced SA myself and am disgusted by her.

He ruined himself, FFS. What’s with this absurd narrative that a woman is out to ruin a man when she asserts she’s been abused. Maybe she wants justice.

Also, being a survivor doesn’t make you immune from being wrong on this issue.

And yet the jury found that indeed Amber’s lies did cause JD damage. That’s the point. He didn’t ruin himself. He took ownership of his drug issues. But being wrongfully accused of abuse so that his ex wife could put herself out there as a spokesperson for abused women is just disgusting.

For the last f-ing time. He DID abuse her. There was plenty of evidence to that effect. Good grief, so many women who hate women.

This is a little long, but worth a read. Unfortunately, I suspect the people who most need to take it to heart are the ones most likely to blow it off without reading it (perhaps with a dig at the author that will just reinforce the point).

She had proof. More than most. Regardless if you believe her, you do understand how this verdict will negatively impact victims? As a supposed survivor of SA, I’d think you’d have some empathy for them, but sounds like you want them to shut up and stay silent.

Me too. Abuse survivor too, by an opiate addict no less. I just don't believe Heard either.

That’s fine, Serena Joy. Totally fine.

Good! It was always clear to me that Amber was lying.

She too advantage of the metoo movement.

Most survivors aren’t photoshopping photos to try to make it look like she had injuries. Most aren’t claiming to have a broken nose and going on a TV show with no sign of injury. Putting herself out as a spokesperson for abused women offends me so, so much.

DP. I’ve had a broken nose that left me with nothing but the slightest hint of shadows under my eyes that were easily covered with concealer.

I can barely get makeup to fully cover my acne scars. I’d really like to know what kind of makeup covers bruises from being punched in the face multiple times…. In HD no less.

Yes, the next day. I was really grateful for the lack of bruising because it happening when my then-boyfriend accidentally elbowed me in the nose (a legit accident), and might after it happened I was afraid it would leave me terribly bruised and people would think my boyfriend was abusing me. I later had to have surgery to fix the deviated septum, but no noticeable bruising when it happened.

But since that doesn’t fit your preferred narrative, I’m sure you will accuse me of lying.

He ruined himself, FFS. What’s with this absurd narrative that a woman is out to ruin a man when she asserts she’s been abused. Maybe she wants justice.

Also, being a survivor doesn’t make you immune from being wrong on this issue.

+1 she didn’t even name him. How does he even know if it was her statement or his substance abuse problems that caused him to lose roles? Hope he never works again due to this stunt.

The ACLU said explicitly that it was about him.

He’ll work again. In fact he’s already signed to be in Beetlejuice 2. Amber on the other hand is going to be fully blacklisted.
