You have no idea who I am or my ability to appreciate irony. I do know that what you wrote is comprised of very condescending, judgmental and harsh statements. |
To be clear, I do not like Meghan Markle. But I dislike the BRF and the tabloids more than I dislike MM. I suppose to the crazed haters that is impossible to understand. |
At this point I’m lost and have no clue who is on what side 😆. I simply do not understand the people that despise Meghan. Why do you follow everything she does? Why keep visiting this thread? Just put her out of your mind, it’s easy. Just pay her no attention and you will no longer be so irritated! It simple! |
+1 would love to see a source! Never seems to exist though, funny that! |
+1 would also love to see a source for this |
There are no sources for these claims, except the ones in their vivid imaginations where Meghan is the reason for all their woes 😂😂😂 |
No, I had an internship in the Canadian Parliament when younger. It was a great, great experience. I've always loved Canada. |
True. I don't usually do that, but I've had it with both the posters who spew insane vitriol at MM in this thread and the batsh*t crazy MAGA crowd who seem quite similar. If you are not part of those two groups, then you have my apology. My comment was directed to the posters who call Meghan "vicious" or insist she said she wanted privacy but have never once, in these thousands of pages, actually shown where she said that. I normally hold in those thoughts because I know they're unproductive, but the irony of being able to dish out so much bile and and then quote Maya Angelou about other people's feelings was just too much. And here's a thought-- Why don't the people who are critical of Meghan ever call out the nastiness of their side? I didn't see anyone who claims to have a thoughtful reason for their skepticism actually call out the people who call her vicious. Why is that? |
I call out when people make fun of her body or have insane conspiracy theories about her baby. I think it’s not really vitriol I see so much as a true questioning of her motives and actions. I don’t understand plagiarizing speeches, lying in court, clearing out a sold out Wimbledon box so I wouldn’t have to sit next to the commoners, or going on Oprah and lying about why my kid wasn’t made a prince. I don’t understand the rabid fans for whom she seems to walk on water. I get that she’s mixed race and it’s great to see someone of color achieve such a high position of power and influence but she specifically doesn’t seem worthy of that unwavering fan club. |
Sources? |
Oh FFS. Look them up yourself. She plagiarized Eleanor Roosevelt in her speech to the UN. She herself just admitted she lied in court - oops I had a memory lapse! The Wimbledon thing and Oprah interview are all public domain. None of this is in question. It all happened. |
Lol ok |
DP. The prior poster is correct. We’ve discussed all of this stuff. It’s pretty disingenuous for you to sneer at PP. |
I don't agree with what you just wrote, but I don't have a problem with it, either. The tone makes a huge difference. As I mull it over, I realize there are two kinds of posts that I find especially disturbing. One is the kind that is just really nasty, full of name-calling and labels. It disturbs me because it is dehumanizing, and that's never okay. We are at a place in history where that is becoming more acceptable, and it's dangerous. (When I see other threads anywhere on DCUM that dehumanize, I report them, even when they are people whose views I otherwise share.) The second kind of disturbing posts are those full of projected feelings and thoughts and motivations that go beyond ordinary speculation and character analysis. The posters write really fleshed out scenarios as if they have first hand knowledge. It's not just piecing together a motive based on what is in the public sphere; it's imagined thoughts and conversations they then use to justify their hatred. My comments up top were harsh-- maybe too harsh-- but I tried to characterize the expression of ideas, not call names or generalize about people's characters beyond what they write here. |
