Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

Can someone post exactly which statements were found to be defamatory on each side? I went back 5 pages on this thread and couldn’t find them and cnn doesn’t specify.

So weird to see a bunch of MAGA republicans cheering about this. I thought y’all hated degenerate Hollywood?

They hate women more. Is that not clear by now?

Here is the special verdict form. She was found liable to him on all three of her statements. He was found liable to her on the second of his three statements.

"I, of course, pounded and displayed ugly colors to Amber on a recent journey," Depp said in a text message to a friend, the actor Paul Bettany, in July 2013, which was shown to jurors.

"I am an insane person and not so fair headed after too much of the drink," Depp continued. "Weed, pills ... Fine!!! Booze??? My capacity is too large and I won't stop ... Ugly and sad ... Oh, how I love it."

The Johnny stans conveniently ignore his history of truly nasty behavior.

You do not put the victim on trial. This is like saying oh she wore a short dress so everything that happened to her was her fault.

I don’t like Depp or AH but I do believe she was abused. Now there is a blueprint for abusers to silence their victims. Thanks Depp stans!

Anonymous wrote:Heard said in a statement she is "heartbroken" over the verdict.

"The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband," Heard said.

That's her story and she's sticking to it! It was all because of Depp's sway, despite a "mountain of evidence." SMH.

She’s right and I’m heartbroken for her. Depp was abusive and she had every right to write her op Ed and share her experience with an abuser. That she is imperfect as a victim doesn’t negate his abuse. It also doesn’t mean she defamed him. Sad day for women but this is the direction our country is headed in so not a total surprise. Soon you’ll be able to beat and terrify women with impunity.

+1 sad day for women

Oh please.

This is a case where a woman who is desperate for fame saw the value of leveraging the me too movement for her own narcissistic goals. She too advantage of the “believe all women” stance to ruin a man for her own gain.

I have experienced SA myself and am disgusted by her.

She had proof. More than most. Regardless if you believe her, you do understand how this verdict will negatively impact victims? As a supposed survivor of SA, I’d think you’d have some empathy for them, but sounds like you want them to shut up and stay silent.

He ruined himself, FFS. What’s with this absurd narrative that a woman is out to ruin a man when she asserts she’s been abused. Maybe she wants justice.

Also, being a survivor doesn’t make you immune from being wrong on this issue.

Me too. Abuse survivor too, by an opiate addict no less. I just don't believe Heard either.

I believed her, mostly.

Not the end for Metoo movement. Just the end for taking advantage of the Metoo movement for their own gain. Maybe it's the beginning for the Metoo movement to include any abuse victim, regardless of gender?

And yet the jury found that indeed Amber’s lies did cause JD damage. That’s the point. He didn’t ruin himself. He took ownership of his drug issues. But being wrongfully accused of abuse so that his ex wife could put herself out there as a spokesperson for abused women is just disgusting.
