Why do people hate Disney?

Anonymous
This thread has made me realize that I think I hate Disney and Europe, which is sort of the Disney of continents.

But sure — you can always just wing it and do whatever you want whenever you want to, right?

Yes. I have had private tours of the types of spots that you're gagging to get into. It's weird that you're shocked that we have different rules. I don't need websites for my tours

Uh huh. Sure.

And you book those tours as soon as you get there because, as you said, you don’t plan.

I’ve always said Western Europe is the Disney of international travel.

Oh and if you tell me you book ahead of time, THAT IS PLANNING.

So I feel sorry for you that all you can do is slap down cash so someone else does the work for you. I’m smart enough to not waste my money, and I still get the same experience.

I wonder if PP is like Tom Cruise or someone that can go to anyplace with a private tour without booking in advance.

They’re someone who slaps money down and then says “you don’t have to plan!”

Yeah, dipwad, you don’t plan when the tour operator does. Someone is still planning. Idiot.

The need to get the app and reserve everything in advance was a major pain in the ass. Standing in line was a pain in the ass. Dealing with my kids being overstimulated and continuously and the verge of a meltdown was a pain in the ass. We paid for my sister to spend the day at Disney and she hated every moment and that was a pain in the ass. We paid $40 for VIP parking lot, because the parking is a pain in the ass. It's so freaking hot and humid in Florida and that's a pain in the ass. Florida and Florida people are a pain in the ass. My 4 year old was terrified by every ride, including the spinning teacups, and that was a pain in the ass. Thank god we brought a stroller for my 4 and 6 year old, but lugging that eveyrwhere and parking it with 862 other strollers at every ride was a pain in the ass. We made the mistake of planning for a half day at Epcot, and it sucked, and that was a pain in the ass.

The water park we went to for one day there was good, because we didn't have to wait in any lines, and the kids had continuous fun all day. They also really enjoyed the plane ride home.

The next year we went to the Bahamas instead, enjoyed the beautiful beach, visited the megaresort down the beach for fun stuff like like their apiary and huge aquariums with sharks and rays. The kiddos and grownups had a great time!

I found your post kind of hilarious.

Omg yes to all of this. I honestly don’t know why people enjoy it. I can’t figure it out. The only thing I can come up with is if you are born in the US, you are conditioned from an early age to believe Disney is “magical” and you just can’t see it any other way. I have a friend the goes and loves it, but she also spends at least the 6 months prior planning out every hour of every day and various reservations for rides and restaurants and such. What a pain in the ass. I’m not planning every meal I eat on vacation and every hour of my day 6 months in advance, in excel. That is nuts and in no
way fun to me to vacation like that

If it's not Disney, it's the Outer Banks.

Or Portugal.

Ah yes. That must be why only Americans like Disney.

Wait. Crap.

Your theory fails, OP. Sorry.

I love planning trips, whether Disney or elsewhere.

Not everyone is like you.

Why is everyone so defensive about Disney? If anyone tries to explain why they are not interested in vacationing at Disney, they are accused of not being fun, not doing it right, or trying to feel superior. We’ve taken our kids to Disney CA and FL because we had other reasons to visit close by. We’ve also taken them to Thailand, Iceland, Paris, Hong Kong, Panama, and Aruba. Disney’s fine and we had a nice couple of days there, but it wasn’t better than our other vacations by a long shot.

It’s because people who dislike Disney on this thread have described people who like Disney as:

- Intellectually impoverished
- Simple
- Vulgar

Etc.

Lol good luck to anyone booking trips for this year. It’s going to be packed!

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World in Orlando has announced a new four-day ticket offer to Florida residents that amounts to just $50 per ticket.
