Why do people hate Disney?

You sound delightful.

I might have a negative association because when I went as a kid, my mom got mad at my siblings and I because she didn’t think we were having enough fun for all the effort and expense that had gone into the trip. And she wasn’t alone, because I seem to recall a lot of cranky parents kind of losing it at the end of the day.

I guess I just don’t like the artificiality. I’d rather walk down a real Main Street somewhere. And I don’t like crowds, lines, Florida in general.

Sounds like your parents didn’t know how to make it enjoyable and neither do you.

Unfortunate because it can be really fun.

Tons a good reasons listed in this thread. Some people just aren’t into this kind of vacation, and that’s OK. I happen to enjoy it, but would never try to convince anyone to go if it’s usually not their thing. Fewer people in the parks!

On the other hand, there’s also tons of people in this thread showing their ass. Nobody likes a brat who calls others trashy for liking something they don’t. And for some reason, nothing gets them riled up like Disney, and every time there’s a Disney thread they must come running to call you trashy.

My husband thinks it is too crowded and too expensive. I still like it, but he’s not exactly wrong either.

And then if someone says “hey my kids have been to Disney and also all over the world” they bitch about how that’s too much.

I think it’s totally ok not to like Disney - to each his/her own - but I agree with you - I don’t like it when people trash it. I think that’s rude.

Some people just like feeling superior and for some reason Disney fuels that.

Honestly they probably haven’t been since they were kids, so have no clue what they’re talking about.

If it's not Disney, it's the Outer Banks.

LOL. I think both of those places. If that’s wrong, I don’t want to be right

The thing that’s amazing is they bitch about long lines and crowds, but frankly I’ve seen just as many in Europe as I have at Disney.

^ I like; not I think

I think it’s way overpriced and they let it get too crowded. I’m not anti Disney in general.

I feel the exact same way about Prague. Miserable.

It’s not really that unfortunate. There are tons of other ways to have fun.
