A very true statement.

I found her story compelling. However it was odd that bergdorff should have an empty department. That is unthinkable to me- or that a sales person would not follow the king of New York.

I saw a video of this woman and she’s off beat. I also saw her tweet that she loved the apprentice which is weird.

The tragedy of these types of crimes is that it is so hard to protect victims and the falsely accused. Because there is rarely much evidence.

Plus, not remembering what year.

Pretty shitty of Trump to sexually assault her and then defame her. I think everyone can agree on that.

Hmmm...have any political figures done that before?

This is not the same issue as Christine Ford of being totally vague on dates. Carroll gave a date within a month, either December 1995 or January 1996.

At some point, she becomes a joke, and he then acquires more independent voters.

She won the case.

Donald Trump is and always has been a joke, as are every one of his voters. The only new voters he’s acquiring are the brainwashed and brain damaged.

Not to be too particular, but he was not found liable for rape. Even a New York jury didn't believe her rape claim. He was found liable for "sexual abuse." So as much as she won part of the case, she lost on the part that people are running with--rape.

That is weird. They have to believe her to find against Trump, but then they believe she lied about the rape?

I’ve served as a juror in both criminal and civil cases. You cannot infer what the jury believes. You can only infer that there was not unanimous agreement that the burden of proof was met on that particular charge. When I was a juror in a criminal trial, every single one of us believed that the defendant was guilty, but we followed the judge’s instructions and disregarded improper testimony and found the defendant not guilty because the arresting officer, a rookie making his first solo arrest, screwed up so badly procedurally that the prosecution couldn’t meet the burden of proof beyond reasonable doubt. There may very well be some jurors who believe Trump raped Carroll, but there are negotiations and compromises to reach unanimous verdicts.

I'm surprised the jury got to consider anything involving a cop making procedural errors. Usually the judge deals with this outside of the jury's presence, and throws out evidence.

The jury believed that a preponderance of the evidence showed that she was sexually abused but that a preponderance of the evidence did not show that she was raped. Carroll testified and then her two friends who she told immediately afterwards all testified, and it was unclear as to New York law which is very specific whether she was penetrated by Trumps penis or something else. Not really a win for him.

You don’t know how that they didn’t believe her, there was not enough proof to find him guilty. Two very different things.

He needs to keep his fortunately or unfortunately pathetic little fingers to himself. They will not be going to the oval office again, that is for sure.

Agreed that sexually assaulting and then defaming a woman is bad? Yes, most political figures have done so. Trump is clearly a monster who moral Americans won't support. Only immoral people would continue to support him after this. I thought Hillary was wrong about half of Trump's support coming from "deplorables." Now we can measure it to see whether she was right or not. Now that it's been established that he sexually assaulted a woman and then defamed her, by definition, only deplorable people would continue to support him. We can measure his support prior to the verdict and after the verdict and determine what percentage of his support comes from such people.

The people who are focused on the lack of a rape finding are messed up in the head. They're saying that sexually assaulting a woman is good, actually? Because it's not rape? What kind of f**ked up logic is that?

Doing things like grabbing a woman by the pussy against her will is sexual assault. It's vile, immoral and criminal, regardless of whether there was insertion of a penis involved or not.

And it's utterly bewildering that the sick Trumpies on this thread still can't seem to wrap their heads around that.

I was groped in DC in my early 30s. The ONLY reason I can recall the date and year is because it was the same weekend as my graduation from a degree program, AND because I reported it amd had to testify. Otherwise, it would be tough to place and years definitely blur together not coinciding with such an event. Several years before that, I was groped by a (very drunk) friend of the family at an engagement event. I don't recall what year, to be honest. I didn't tell anyone about that.

I don't understand why people think you'd recall a date. I now can't recall what year I started with my current job.

No, was posted earlier that only penile penetration can be classified as rape in NY. That is why he is guilty of sexual assault but not rape.
