Public Trump Impeachment Hearing Mega Thread

I’m an independent and agree he will likely not be removed. But there will be a price to pay, and in the long run, the Republican Party will have to pay up.
This is causing irreversible damage to what was left of their party.
What choice does the left have? Someone has to do something. There has to be an adult in the room at some point.

But I guess that’s why I’m not a politician... I have a soul and conscience.

And they don’t. So much easier when you’re a sociopath.

I was with you until the last line. How about

She is only allowing this to move forward because she is being held captive by the wing of her party that is even more leftist/ extremist than she is.

Lol No one takes Nancy “captive.” You are confusing her for sniveling Republicans like Susan Collins et al.

Oh yeah? She terrified of those sweet young things known as The Squad

You mean the SEVEN freshmen from purple & red districts with Nat security/military backgrounds like Elissa Slotkin and Abigail Spanberger?
Yeh, real radicals there!

Yes. There is no such thing as a conservative d any more.

LOL. Since when? Actually, what happened to the squad? I haven’t heard a lot about them lately.

No. I don’t think so. I cannot speak to whether republicans will pay a price because I honestly don’t understand their voters and what motivates them. However, I am confident that nobody who is a democrat or a democratic leaning independent will do anything but cheer for democrats that try to hold this out of control president accountable.

I say this as someone who listened to the impeachment hearings for Nixon and Clinton. Those hearings - especially the one for Nixon - was riveting. This has been a sleeper so far and I say this as someone who is a political junkie.

This seems to b the right-wing talking point. It's boring.

I am a Democrat; the goal of these hearings is to turn public opinion in favor of impeachment and removal of the president.

DP. Many people don’t need a hearing to do that. We all see the President’s behavior, and are concerned. But we respect the process.

Signed,
The American Republic

Partisans on both sides have already made up their minds - the hearings make no difference. There is a broad swath of voters who are independent or still wonder if impeachment is the best course of action. They are the ones who need to get on board if one is to have any hope that 20 Republican senators will vote to remove the president.

Very liberal girlfriend just said that the impeachment is a joke. After mueller, Dems need to focus on winning elections and not this political crap

Hmm

You’re projecting an awful lot onto a blow-up doll.

Wonder if they are worried about the GOP email leak...

Causing irreversible damage???? . In 2015 respected conservatives and Republicans spoke out about trump. Nobody listened and the brand is tarnished beyond redemption in the near future. Once you start putting kids in cages and the pics are there to prove the train has pretty much left the station.

Sure. That's why so many Republicans in Congress are retiring rather than run next year.

I only wish both the Hon Elijah Cummings and Hon John McCain were here to see this all go down. Maybe they’re angels in the universe somehow helping the truth be revealed and not kept hidden.
