Democrats have been talking about impeaching the president ever since he won election - literally before he assumed the Oval office. The Mueller investigation bliew up in their faces. Now they are relying on second hand or third hand evidence to argue that a president should be removed. I seriously doubt that it will fly. Those who support impeachment are partisans.

There is no way that those screaming about impeachment would give any credence to the same evidence if it had been a Democratic president.

All that this has done is to create an environment that will ensure that a Democratic president is impeached by a Republican controlled House using similar flimsy evidence. Unfortunate ..........

Reality belies your post.

Nancy Pelosi AND Adam Schiff have been against impeachment—until BLOTUS screwed himself extorting Ukraine.

Anyone who has paid the least bit of attention knows that Nancy Pelosi pursues impeachment basically against her own wishes. She knows this is a political loser and has said so many, many times. She is only allowing this to move forward because Trump’s conduct was so bad she felt the constitution demands it.

Can you give us an example of something that Trump might do that you would find impeachable? TIA!

If there was clear and convincing evidence that Trump or his campaign with his knowledge and approval had colluded with Russia in connection with the 2016 election, impeachment would be the correct remedy. If Trump disobeyed an order by the Supreme Court, impeachment is warranted.

There are multiple reasons why this impeachment move is sheer folly. Reliance on second or third hand information, the fact that the election is just a year away, the fact that there is no chance that Trump will be removed from office, the fact that articles of impeachment will only be passed in a totally partisan vote. But as I said previously, the environment will be created for a Democratic president to be impeached for flimsy reasons by a Democratic controlled House which would be tragic.

It took over 100 years for us to have a near impeachment of a president after Andrew Johnson. In the past 50 years we will have had three presidents impeached or near almost certainly headed for impeachment assuming that Trump is impeached. This is a reflection of the partisanship that has polarized this country.

BTW, I am a Democrat!

This. The bottom line.

Its now or never and they have to produce. So far, nothing, and the problem is, they know they have nothing. But the Ds are way too invested in this to turn back now.

I was with you until the last line. How about

She is only allowing this to move forward because she is being held captive by the wing of her party that is even more leftist/ extremist than she is.

Why do you keep pretending they are relying on second hand information? Why are you buying that BS line?

He will be impeached but not removed - you can take that to the bank.

I think if I had to defend Trump like the GOP today; it would kill my soul. Honestly, I have no idea how they could get up and defend him. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.

But I guess that’s why I’m not a politician... I have a soul and conscience.
