I think support staff uses it.

Contact a compliance specialist in MCPS. They are your best bet.

I am the person asking about the form. I don't trust anyone who works in central office. In order to avoid having to actually do any work, they just contact your principal and let them know you contacted them because "that should always be your first line of communication". Then your principal makes life hell for you since you dared to contact central office. I've seen it happen time and time again. Meanwhile principals hide staff bullying because it reflects poorly on them, and that is the most important piece of it all. Central office staff will *always* be on the principal's side and will rat you out in an instant.

Black and Latina girls are beset with an entirely different set of standards and signifiers. As the "hootchie" poster above shows off oh so well.

Wasps can pretty much wear handi-wipes and flip flops until Christmas and no one will bat an eye. It isn't fair, and it isn't right, but it's accurate.

White trash dress hootchie too.
Short shorts, bra straps out, shoulder strap tank tops, make up galore.
Oooh la la. You must be really focused on learning to show up to school like that.

It must be really depressing to be so insecute that you obsess about what children that aren't yours wear to school, and think it has something to do with their moral character. I'm sorry you were raised like that.

Hahaha. How you choose to dress does indeed reflect your character. Full stop.
Why are you even trying to argue otherwise. I suppose if you sheltered a kid from all of society and had them wear XYZ they may be very conditioned to think that is the norm....

I took up issues with violent kids and rich kids cussing me out and my VP made me give them all passing grades for cheating and not fulfilling classroom management plans. Some of the rich kids got better grades then the minorities at higher levels bc the principals did not want to deal with the parents. Brought up in meeting. I was not renewed long story short. There is no future with MCPS if you do what's right. Make up the data if you want to keep the job. Low profile, agree with everything from administratiin and go with the flow. Or do what's right bc everyone know what flies in MCPS. This revolution in education is long overdue.

Bullying is rampant and teachers with student loan are stuck bw a rock and a hard place. I think this system is designed this way. In a way it does seem like a shining example of education for the country. Shined with bull spit.

Moco county gave me exemplary scores when I was paying thousands in personal cash and debt to become a teacher. When I was a paid teacher their nothing was considered correct compared to the bully alphas. Hmmmm, how is it when I am going I to debt for education I'm a rockstar but when I try to fulfill a lifelong career I'm crap. Interesting. Needless to say the union had no part of it, but here's free money fat cats. Best advice is work to rule, no extra, report everything and spread the word to everyone to report everything. Teachers unite without the useless MCEA.

Exact. The online survey for school climate is very generic.
Earlier today, when it was 78 degrees, I went to my principal and informed her that my room was extremely hot. My scalp was sweaty, abs my classes were steaming. A thermostat was inserted on my classroom wall but the very hot forced air blows all the time even when it is off.
She told me that maybe I should consider retiring since I am menopausal.

Did the principal use these words?

Maybe you were not renewed due to deficiencies in spelling and grammar?

I'm not the PP but she's clearly using abbreviations and writing informally. Not deficient.

Ask to speak to someone who is in compliance confidentially. They will initially tell you any type of bullying can't be kept confidential. That's not true-- there is always someone you can talk to confidentially. Then have a conversation. Find out what they'd say to your principal and how they'd handle it before agreeing to go on the record. If there's trust, proceed. If not, get outside counsel. Many of the folks in central hate MCPS too, and have even been bullied by colleagues themselves. Don't be so sure they're not ready to revolt, too. And you may get more support from them than you think.

I agree with the poster who trusts no one in Central Office. I agree with this 100% - not only are they useless, I would say they actively cause harm to thousands of teachers and tens of thousands of students every day. Ridiculous policies (extra busywork for teachers), more unnecessary tests for students, doing away with special ed positions that supported students and so much more.

Does anyone know any fresh faced college grad teachers who were fired and told to defend themselvesand they just didn't know how bad the district was/ what was needed for defense of their career out of the gate. When fraud and cover-ups are supported and truth is diminished and a newbie thinks they are doing their job then they are lost and rudely awakened with nonrenewal. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know a nontenure teacher who has to face this? It seems like the routes of defense are purposefully obscure to benefit corrupt power over poor subservience.

A good amount of the people in central office are failed administrators who need to be hidden, lazy teachers who talk a good game and don't want to be burdened with a classroom, etc. Very few people go into central office because they're passionate about that type of work. The passionate people want to stay close to kids.

I am the PP. I did not advise going to just anyone in central. A good percent of the people there—like 85%— are power hungry and incompetent. I said to go to someone in compliance who they could talk to confidentially. That office is different and those people have helped several teachers I know. But be careful anyway. Make sure you know what they plan to do before authorizing them to share what you disclose.
