They did or at least Tess did when Beth spoke to them afterwards. I think she said she acted like a brat or something. It was kind of a flippant apology but typical for her age, but she did appear to be sorry. |
Was there a new episode on 11/5? My dvr didn’t record one. |
You mean 11/6. No, due to the election. |
|
+1. I imagine it would feel like you are nine months pregnant permanently. |
+2 With triplets. |
I haven't watched for quite a while.
Are they still in an almost constant state of flashbacks? |
Considering that Jack is a central character (and he is dead), yes. |
I had hoped they had moved on. |
Uh, that’s precisely the conceit of the show? Interwoven timeliness that defines a family. |
I thought last night's show was lacking some key emotion. Don't you think those parents would have been sobbing when Jack came to visit them? And wouldn't Zoe also be more emotional when she tells Kevin about her dad?
But I liked last night's story line better than previous episodes... maybe because Kate wasn't in it. Her weight is totally distracting! |
OMG, if Kate's weight is all you all can think about in this show, maybe you should step away from the TV and eat your carrot sticks.
I still love the fluidity of the story lines woven back and forth in time, and it worked particularly well in last night's episode. In the preview for next week, was there a mention of Miguel's kids? Have we seen them before? |
I liked this episode a lot. The scene in the bathroom with Kevin and Zoe was really good. I loved how she told him that she IS strong. She’s interesting and I look forward to more about her. Darn, and her outfit and hair in Vietnam were so adorable!
Also liked the Bec/Jack road trip. Mandy Moore has such a glow. I find myself feeling sadder and sadder about Jack’s death this season as they fill in their dating backstory. |
I really loved this episode. I think TIU is at its best when it is showing how day-to-day life shapes people and their relationships. Even in the most awful time, and as messed up as he was, Nicky visibly let Jack in. Zoe is the best - not pathetic but strong and realistic. Rebecca taking the sting of the "Pittsburgh good" and turning it into resolve to move her relationship forward with Jack. It was a quiet episode in that way. |
Agree completely. Pages and pages ago, reacting to the house fire episode, I wrote how I was most moved by watching Jack quietly cleaning up the kitchen after their Super Bowl celebration. Those little moments of caretaking are so much more powerful than the “super dad” stunts, which can feel manipulative. |
