Non-famous but frequent DCUM posters

Didn’t read all the pages but I immediately thought of 2: “South Arlington Mom” who likes to lecture about white privilege and how redshirting is the 8th deadly sin, and “Open the marriage” poster on Relationships, as he gives that “advice” in any thread about lack of frequency of sex. I picture him as a middle aged white man about 5’5” and thin, balding in front but with longer hair in back, and overall squirrelly and rat-like in appearance and mannerisms.

The other is the stepmother of some of the kids, was a SAHM for several years but returned to work when her youngest was in middle school, & used to live in the DC area but has since moved to Florida (& stopped WOH due to the move).

Both have grown/almost grown children who apparently were never allowed to behave as horribly as most DCUM posters' kids are allowed to behave.

Yes, there is more than one. One of them very specifically lists out her kids ages frequently and I don't think she is very kind to struggling new moms on DCUM. The other one has some that are step-kids. They share a certainty about parenting that I recognize, as a child of a big family myself.

I am a third mom of 5. I am relieved to say that I am not the first one (nor the second, but she seems to have a higher approval rating) above. Every once in a blue moon I have signed as Mom of 5 when I think that a young mom is being too self-focused and not showing a wide enough perspective about the child or family dynamics; however, I will never again sign as Mom of 5 now that I've read about the first one.

I think, unfortunately, that the first one is not a good person to be confused with.

OMG yes. The "I'd be talking to a divorce lawyer if my DH did XYZ poster." 99% of the US population would be divorced if we followed her advice.

Eh I'm not this poster but I have to say that like ~ 90% of the women who post about their man child husbands should divorce them and find better men, ones who are at least trainable. You shouldn't have to do the majority of the house and kid stuff and work just because you have a vagina.

Also not this poster, but I also feel that the majority of women who post in the relationships forum who don't have kids should just get a divorce. Honestly, if you've got that kind of problem before kids, and can't find a way to work it out, you're going to be in deep doo-doo when you've got screaming kids, middle-aged health problems, ailing parents, are hitting a ceiling or facing a RIF at work, etc., etc. Life in your 20's before kids is really easy, so if you and your spouse are not cruising through it, it's a very bad sign for what it will look like in 10 years.

There's someone who always posts about her food budget of $400 a month for a family of six or something. And when you dig for details, they're all eating a single serving of off-brand cornflakes for breakfast and other equally unrealistic meals. Like, meals that would never work for a normal human being.

The thing with Arlington mom that makes her memorable is that she's blind to her own privilege while lecturing others about theirs. There's such a broad disconnect between what she posts and what she lives.

She posts a lot in the college forum. Search for University of Florida or UCF. I forget which one the kid went to. I think more than one may have gone to school in FL and she is very pro FL.
