Wife Goes Silent on Work Travel

women are not little girls. Short of assault, they are capable of being in other countries with men, and staying faithful.

You sounds like the Pences!

I have to take offense at this concept. They are your kids just as much as they are hers. Tone down, to yourself, the sense of injustice at parenting, because, after all, you are a parent. The above-quoted sentiment betrays that maybe you aren't so progressive and maybe you still think it's a very big sacrifice for the father, bigger than it would be for the mother, to single-parent the kids when the mother is traveling.

I didn’t get that sentiment from OP at all. Two weeks is a long time to solo parent with little kids, and probably seems even longer and more difficult with a spouse whose communication style leaves a lot to be desired.

You must be $&%*&@ kidding me. Try being a military spouse. Fool.

Or an actual single parent (24/7 for 20 years!)

She isn’t in the IC, but you can’t discuss her work? I call troll.

OP, I work in the IC and you’re not doing a very good job pretending that she’s not, but still has a super secret job.

You even slipped up at one point when discussing her personal computer — you said she can take her computer home, but her coworkers wouldn’t discuss things on there “because it’s classified.”

Classified but not in the IC?

You’re not very good at this.

I'm not the OP, but you do know that classified work isn't exclusive to the IC, right?

This thread is from 2 years ago. I read through thinking he was adding a bigger update but sadly no. You get invested after 26 pages!

It’s interesting that she’s at the TS level with poly and was having an undisclosed affair. She would have lost her clearance at the next poly if it’s a fullscope, unless she revealed it to him and he signed an affidavit that he knows. Now that he knows it’s less of an issue. Although there is very likely now a divorce so the affair is also less of an issue.

^^ although considering how she was able to emotionally check out on her kids as well as her husband, she might have been able to trick the poly. Doesn’t matter now.

Uh yeah the PP doesn’t work in the IC. This sounds like management consulting to me (BCG?).

But like the other PP said, I’m invested now! I wanna know what happened! Was she banging someone on her team?? Did you get a good deal in the divorce?

Maybe it was a part of her mission. Anything she did, she did it for the greater good. To the detriment if her own good, possibly. It happens.

Is it sad that we read these posts like they are episodes on Netflix?

These are real, hurting people. With children, and feelings. I wish more posters would put down their popcorn and keep that in mind.

+1. The original poster for this thread literally came to my mind because I remembered when the thread was happening and felt such devastation at his last update. I worried about him, especially approaching holidays they are sometimes difficult. I’m sending good thoughts and letting Op know his family isn’t forgotten.
