| I think Columbia and Brown have good film programs. Not sure about the others. I agree she'll go Ivy or Stanford though. |
| If she wasnt the POTUS's daughter, probably Howard. |
| I think NYU if she was not daughter of POTUS. |
Are you high? If if she weren't POTUS' daughter, her parents went to Columbia and Princeton and Harvard Law School. Presumably she would have graduated from University of Chicago Lab School where she went before and been directed to the same level of colleges she is currently seeing. I grant you that she wouldn't have assurance for admission to her chosen one that she has as child of POTUS. |
If you think today that kids are automatically "directed to the same level of colleges" as their parents' alma maters then perhaps you are the high one. This area is full of students who will not necessarily attend the colleges or the "level" of colleges that their parents attended. Selective college admissions are very competitive and grades, scores and leadership also matter. You are correct that being the president's kid gives her more assurance of admission pretty much anywhere. |

NP here,
Howard, really? With a Sidwell Friends education? We all know your views on that guess. |
Without being the POTUS's daughter, would she have gotten into Sidwell? |
No. She would be living in Chicago.
|
And attending Lab, which is at least as good as Sidwell. I've been involved with both schools and prefer Lab. |
agreed. Lab>Sidwell |
I thought Chicago Latin was the better school. |
The back story is that the Obamas' first choice for school in DC was GDS, which reminded them of Lab. But then security/logistics issues with the GDS Palisades campus caused them to settle on Sidwell. |
The back story according to GDS parents. |
Heh. Good point. |
I have heard this and it is very plausible because FLOTUS toured GDS before they moved to the White House. |
